We hired Hiner to do our front yard landscaping project a few years ago. It was a hot summer but they assured us that the heat wouldn’t be an issue. We were very impressed with Matt when we met with him. The yard looked amazing, for a while. However, literally a third of the flowers they planted died in spite of the drip system they installed. We had an abundance of weeds. When contacted, they sent out a guy to pull them. That’s great but doesn’t solve the problem. When I dug up one of the flower beds that had failed, I discovered that the excess polymeric sand from the walkway had been swept into it and covered with dirt! To top this all off, the plantings weren’t even correctly spaced. Decorative grass has overwhelmed what flowers did survive, I’ve had to relocate other overlapping plantings. I would have expected a lot more from such a highly rated company. Very disappointed.

As an Architect I have always felt that the Peripheral part of my home designs should be considered with as much care as the design of the dwelling itself! This requires either the direct involvement of the Architect with the Landscaping company to fullfill the vision of the final setting of the home or a Landscape Architect and company to procure this vision. Matt Hiner does not require this involvement as he is gifted with understanding the setting and complimenting the project in a way that offers the final statement and compliment to the Architecture. Matt is dedicated to his projects and visions from the start and fulfills the delivery with integrity and class.

I was incredibly impressed with Matt and his entire team from start to finish. They met with us initially to get an idea of what we wanted and came up with an amazing design. They went back a tweaked it to exactly our liking and completed the entire project in under two weeks. Matt was incredibly professional and reasonable for the quality of work done. The team , especially John who managed most of our installation , were very responsive and focused on making everything right for us. There were some things that needed to be replanted after our first winter and a water feature which needed some added attention , but they never questioned the need and happily fixed all of our issues. I love my yard!!!! Matt Hiner was very professional giving me a written estimate within a few days of our first meeting. When the project was delayed by the weather, he was very quick to communicate with me and keep me informed of the new start date.There was a small glitch with the irrigation system and his team was there the next day to solve the problem. He listened to my ideas of what I wanted and did not impose his ideas on the project unless I asked for his opinion. Everything was in a written contract which I was able to review prior to beginning of the project. I had obtained 3 landscaping estimates ( the other 2 were not in writing) and both of the other companies only told me what THEY could do…not what I wanted. All proposals were comparable in price. We first met Matt at a home show and was immediately impressed with his display as well as his professional presentation. Shortly after contacted him for an estimate and he came out in a timely manner and walked through with us hearing our ideas and answering our questions. He then went back and drew up a wonderful design for our front and back landscape which included a flagstone path and patio area. His presentation was great and his plan drawings were very well done and easy to understand. Once we finalized the design his crew began work and they were the most professional crew I have seen! They use good equipment and have very professional uniforms with trucks and trailers. They worked hard and fast and cleaned up after themselves daily and were very polite and professional. I would highly recommend them for any projects large or small.
