We hired Inviting Spaces to do landscaping on the advice of our contractor, SethAnne Studios. We were renovating a small house for our retirement. The home was from an estate, and the yard had had little care for at least 20 years. The back yard grass area was “wet”, and a slope was overgrown with ivy, azaleas and even poison ivy. 2 Silver maples were in bad shape.
Our priorities were to have the water problem fixed, and the bones ( bushes, trees, shrubs, hardscape ) installed and a plan for smaller plants which we would install as we like to garden.
Greg met with us several times after our initial meeting to refine and revise his initial ideas based on our input, and to reach an acceptable budget.
His Manager, Dave also met with us to work out the schedule and how the work would be accomplished.
Work that was done:
1) The 2 silver maples were removed, all the ivy and plants on the slope were removed. Those overgrown azaleas from the front and back which were in good shape were moved to the side yard where overgrown roses and weed bushes were removed.
2) A drainage system from the downspouts in the back and drywells were installed to control the runoff.
3) A low wall was installed across the back of the yard to help control water from the slope, and provide a planting bed, and a circular wall around the existing Japanese Maple was installed.
4) Other hardscape installed included a walkway from the back door, a small patio in the front of the house and in the back, a concrete pad and fencing for trash cans, and a concrete pad for a shed.
5) Bushes were installed along the existing back fence, and a butterfly garden. Evergreen trees planted between us and our neighbor. In the front small trees, and flowering shrubs were installed. Mulch finished off all of the beds.
6) Sod was installed for the front lawn and back lawn.
We were extremely pleased with the communication, quality of work and the professionalism of Greg, Dave, and the workmen. They were efficient and finished the project in the time they had said they would. We highly recommend them.
