Great Sales pitch, not much of craftsmanship. So it has been 3 years and 5 months since I had Outdoors and Beyond build pool and concrete decking around it at cost of close to $70,000 and it looked great, now that we have had some rain and project has aged things are happening, there is settling on one side deck, stones around the spa falling in to pool, tiles cracking, plaster patchy and areas of decking has these pop outs like someone has been hitting it with sledge hammer, I called on Shlomo Navama “Sol” owner of Outdoors & Beyond to have a look and may be can figure out a solution, it turns out there is nothing can be done since the concrete they have used has this material that is reacting to soil and popping out (I have 10 year old concrete in my back yard with same soil and no such issue), only solution would be to dig it out and redo the decking, and on settling on one side same issue the grounds have not been prepared properly so deck is separating from coping, again no solution but tear it out and start over again. I must say out the 3 different contractors I interviewed he sounded the most knowledgeable one, I turns out Sol is a great salesman but not much of craftsman, estimated cost of repair close to $18,000 and his response was we only give a year warranty on concrete, my suggestion to people trying to do business with him and his company ask for 5 years guarantee and hop he will be around to honor it, because no one should spend thousands for pool which has 10 year warranty on equipment but foundation and concrete work is not going to last as long.

Sol was great. He was always available and answered all my questions. I had a quote in no time.

Beyond that he recognized the errors our architect had made and advised us how to correct them.

Most impressively, even when he didn’t get the job, he still offered helpful advice. I called him after we were having trouble with our pool guy. He offered to finish the work but advised me to do something else that meant he wouldn’t get the work. he did this EVEN THOUGH HE COULD”VE MADE MONEY OFF THE DEAL.

Anybody you takes that much time for someone who they didn’t even get paid by deserves a good review.

I recommend Sol to anyone looking to do their backyard and pool.

Amazing job! Amazing Results! The Best contractor experience Ive ever had. On budget, on time, beautiful design, exceptional craftsmanship. Sol was with me every step, always on the site to check in, but everyone who works for the company is respectful and has integrity and a solid work ethic. Nicest people, very accommodating and excellent ideas. The work far exceeds my expectations but did not exceed my budget. I appreciated that my budget was maximized, that I only paid weekly for work done, and if I wanted to add or change design elements– Sol was very clear about what the cost changes would be. Several times i wanted to add things, so Sol helped me figure out what other item to change to balance my budget and stay on track. I honestly couldn’t say enough nice things and I am going to hire them to do remodeling of my Interior as well!!

Working with Sol was an absolute pleasure. He was very helpful in the planning to balance the cost and benefit decisions associated with the yard design. His pricing wasn’t the lowest but is a good value for the quality and service you receive. I entrusted Sol to conduct the work even though I lived a 6 hour drive away. He did the work as expected and delivered within the timeframe and the projected budget. I highly recommend working with him and will do so again if I have another project in the Los Angeles area.

My project was a very big makeover of my backyard including a new infinity pool, bbq pit with kitchen, large playground for kids, go-cart track and lots of landscaping… I could not be happier with the work that was performed by Sol and his team. They were very professional, on time, trustworthy, and straight forward. They never asked for payment before the phase was done, gave me time to pay the invoices, everything was done on paper and the craftsmanship is excellent. I have worked with other contractors in my previous homes and remodels but this experience was over the top. I will always go to them in the future and have referred my friends and relatives to them. I hired Sol to put in a Pool and Spa in my backyard, It included hardscape as well. Sol did a great job. He helped me to negotiate with the city of Glendale regarding protected trees as well. Glendale is super annoying, but Sol was a great help and made it all easier.

The end product is absolutely great. Sol was there and committed and responsive all steps of the way. I would recommend Outdoors and Beyond to anyone that needs to have a pool installed. They were fast, and professional, and a real pleasure to work with.

After 25 years of living in San Francisco, my husband and I relocated to Southern California. I immediately knew I wanted a beautiful backyard and a pool – that is what Southern California living is all about! I love swimming for exercise, escape from the heat and a place to entertain friends (especially those caught in the fog up north!)

When I began researching the best pool designers and contractors, Sol Navanna and Outdoors and Beyond popped to the front of the list. All reviews talked about quality work, solid pricing and beautiful design.

This is all true, but let me go a bit further. Installing a pool is a serious investment of time and money. Sol and his team (and family) did a several critical things well: 1) reviewed and modified the design (at no additional cost) with me until I was happy, including supporting me when I actually asked the stakes to be moved a half foot to line up with my house lines; 2) carefully took us through engineering, demolition, pump and heating systems, salt versus chlorine, garden and landscape design, fencing, security, permits, pool start-up and transition to daily use. I never questioned the professionalism; 3) remained responsive – calls and texts were always answered quickly – including a question a month post-project when our Project Manager, Scott, came out personally to attend to the issue.

We spent $85,000+ for a gorgeous salt water heated pool, built in 8ft spa with waterfall, stamped concrete and brick patio entertaining areas, new fencing, lawn, flower and vegetable gardens. Start to finish it took 3+ months despite the rains. It is stunning! I highly recommend Outdoors and Beyond to create your oasis.

Highest of praises. From the start of the process, Sol (the owner) was interested only in doing the work that was required and that fit with the design we wanted. There were no hard sales tactics or needless upselling. The job began with Sol preparing the plans and design for a complete pool renovation and spa addition. He not only got the specs, plans, engineering, and permits, but he also prepared the 3-D rendering so we could review and approve before getting into those details. With those plans, we were able to bid out the job to competitors. Sol gave no grief. To the contrary, he encouraged it. Ultimately, we picked Sol’s bid for the job. We felt the price was fair, and you do get what you pay for. The work was top quality craftsmanship. You cannot tell that the spa was never there before Sol’s work. His crew is professional, and responsive. They work clean as well, keeping the construction debris actually within the reasonable boundaries of the construction area throughout the project. They quickly resolved the short punch list, without any grief, and then even power washed the driveway when it was over just to make sure we were happy with how clean everything was when the job was over. Sol also was available to answer questions at any time, and he’ll answer his cell or call you back. Very professional. I would hire again, except the high quality work he did for me is going to last a very long time and he’ll probably retire before I have to renovate the pool again!

I’ve been meaning to write this review since my pool was finished in February but we’ve been having so much fun with it, I haven’t found the time. I got a couple quotes and Sol’s wasn’t the lowest. But when I looked at his previous work and met him, I just knew he was the one that I wanted to work with. He has a great aesthetic. And he is really straight forward and honest. The construction went well and my pool is gorgeous. Sol was really good with all the handholding that such a big investment requires. But where he really impressed was helping me with problem solving…He outlined all the possible solutions and didn’t rest until the problem was solved. Even after the last payment was cashed he calls me back immediately and answers any questions I have with lots of patience. I’ve done my bathroom, kitchen and roof in the last few years and Sol is my very favorite contractor ever. This is the guy you want to hire.

Sol was a pleasure to work with. We had Outdoors and Beyond do quite a bit in our backyard: they put in artificial turf, stamped concrete, a firepit, a bbq, landscaping, and some ambiance lighting. The work was done with great quality and within the original time frame they had given us. Sol and his team are very professional and courteous.

Sol definitely cares about his reputation and that is important when it comes to working with contractors. His desire to have a satisfied customer permeates into everything: schedule, workmanship, and pricing. We would definitely use Outdoors and Beyond again!

Outdoors and Beyond is amazing. They completely redid our pool (shape, size, depth, pebbletec, coping, plumbing, gas, heater, salt water system, etc.) and put in a gorgeous bench with 3 waterfalls. Remodeled our entire barbecue/bar area (tile, counter, bbq, sink, etc.). Took out a large concrete area and put in astroturf. Put in beautiful planters. Redid landscape in front of house – retaining wall, grass, plants, flowers. Sol has an amazing eye for design and turned our home into our dream house. He also always kept in mind our children’s safety.

Everything was done efficiently and on schedule. Sol was always available to answer any questions and address concerns. We are absolutely thrilled with the end result and would do it again in a second. We have only good things to say. One thing we learned, and it’s true of anyone you work with, when making a change or addition in the middle of a job or when approving a verbal suggestion, ask how much money it will cost first. Always make sure the budget and new expenses are very clearly stated.
