Unprofessional, poor communication / service, untrustworthy. We would NEVER hire J.F. Y again. EVER. We originally had our pool installed by J.F.Y. The liner was not installed correctly and Midwest/Kayak Pools hired them to make arrangements to come back out and do it again. We were skeptical because we didn’t want the business who installed it wrong back out again, but Sean, the owner, assured us of his work quality and claimed he wasn’t the same installer, but just shared the same name. So, first off, he lied about who he was–he is the same guy (which we found out after the fact). Unknowingly giving this company a second chance, JFY Enterprises first sent out two employees to install the pool walls, claiming Sean the owner would be out shortly thereafter to do the liner. In regards to the walls, they worked mostly in the dark, didn’t take the liner off the exterior walls, and many screws were not flush. We figured Sean would fix this upon his arrival. We thought the liner would be installed immediately thereafter (the next day), but no, Sean never showed. No communication, no phone call that he wasn’t coming, nothing said by the other two workers the day prior. It wasn’t until we called and asked why he didn’t come that we were told that it was “too wet” for the liner to be installed. It wasn’t wet. It had been dry (no precipitation the previous week). We sent pictures proving this and begged him to come out and finish the job. And besides that, doesn’t a professional pool installer deal with all sorts of climates? There was nothing we could do to convince him, so instead we waited and waited and waited for days for communication and a commitment for Sean to come out to put in the liner. Each time we called or texted, his wife gave us the run around–most times very rude in her texts–never committing to a day or a time. They never did come. We contacted Midwest/Kayak one full week later to report that they didn’t fulfill their job and they said they’ve had similar situations and were no longer in contract with JFY. Furthermore, Midwest was told by J. F. Y that our pool was installed on 6/24. It is 7/17 and we have walls and a big mud hole. They are untrustworthy. We waited all summer for the work to be done and it wasn’t–had we known they weren’t committed to the job, we would’ve given our business elsewhere immediately. Poor service, poor communication, poor work quality, unprofessional.
