Hope and I always wanted a swimming pool, so when we moved to Charlotte, we purchased a home with a pool. A few years later we purchased a larger home in a neighborhood with a community pool and tennis courts. Our boys swam on the neighborhood team and used the pool in the summer, but we really missed having our own pool for more convenient personal use and entertainment.

We began looking for a pool company and talked to 3 or 4 companies. Their proposals were okay, but struggled with solutions for the severe slope in our yard.

Our boys and their friends used the pool for years and it was the location for many pool parties and happy hours. We also established a family tradition of using the spa whenever we had a snowfall.

The boys are grown now, but we still enjoy the pool. Hope and I are both marathon runners, so we use the spa on a year-round basis to soothe our aching muscles.
The pool was specifically situated to provide a panoramic view from our kitchen and dining area, so the pool, along with coffee, welcomes each day.

After 15 years, our pool still looks new and we haven’t had any significant issues.
We have an automated pool cleaner and are amazed at how little maintenance we need to perform.

When I purchased my 7 acre lot on a private 8 acre lake in the late 1970’s, I dreamed of having a pool that would complement the natural setting of my property. I had to find a special kind of pool builder who respected the land and possessed the imagination and ingenuity to design a pool with these constraints in mind. Rod Worthington with Artesian Pools was such a man. He understood my needs and desires and created what I consider a masterpiece for me. He built a black bottomed lagoon style pool with large granite boulders surrounding part of the pool and a waterfall coming out from between the boulders. The pool is now over 30 years old and has been virtually trouble free for all of this time which speaks to the quality of work he does. I have always maintained the pool myself; however, whenever I did have a problem I needed help with, Mr. Worthington was more than happy to talk to me and give me his expert advice on how to resolve the issue. My pool to this day still has the original tile, plaster, stone coping and rock salt patio. The pumps and filter are also original although I have made some minor repairs on them over the years. I would highly recommend Artesian Pools for anyone desiring a unique, quality swimming pool that will stand the test of time.
