I hired ET&W to create a retaining wall with backfill to level up the front of my property, and added creation of a 90′ x 60″ walk behind my home. At each step of the project from setting up appointments, to project scheduling and oversight, to timely project completion this firm is very professional. I can’t say when I last received a call from a contractor saying they’d be 10 minutes later than we agreed, and could I wait a little longer! They were onsite each day and didn’t wander off to start other projects at any time.

The supervisor and crew onsite were hardworking, knowledgeable, accommodating, and showed great attention to detail. At one point the crew had to borrow an additional hose from my home, and when they returned it was nicely coiled with both of ‘my’ end connectors re-installed though I know they were removed to use the hose.

The walkway addition was executed perfectly with great attention to details of drainage and stability, as well as block cutting on curved portions. I can just see how a less detailed personnel would have ample opportunity to cut corners in this project. They made a point of cleaning up every day and leaving the area as they found it. Hard to imagine what to improve here.

As far as plantings, I enjoyed working with Mary Dresser who is a full time employee of the firm and specializes in the landscape design/horticulture aspects. She made some excellent recommendations based on her analysis my location and my needs.

What a wonderful experience to have this company redo my back yard. From the design to the implementation, Earth, Turf & Wood was professional all the way. The existing flagstone patio was redesigned and redone. It had been installed incorrectly and after just 3 years was dangerous because of stones becoming unstable. It also was incorrectly laid and flooded every time it rained. Now it is a charming and safe place to relax.

The landscaping is just awesome. My fence was pushed back and plants and trees were chosen of varying heights, flowering times, and colors. The finished yard looks exactly as the ‘blueprint’ does.

The people who worked on my yard were all passionate about what they do, respectful of the house, mindful that their worksite was actually someone’s home. They never left for the day without securing the yard so my dogs were safe, cleaning off any dust or dirt from surfaces, and putting their tools and equipment off to the sides. They worked constantly from early morning to late afternoon, stopping only for a brief lunch. No frequent smoke breaks, loud music, phone breaks, etc. Quite different from other people who have worked in my yard. Very nice guys, too, and inspirational as far as work ethics.
