We are thrilled with our backyard makeover! Our yard is on the smaller side and we were working with a somewhat limited budget. Neli and Stan gave us great ideas for both the initial design and various options along the way.

Both Neli and Stan were excellent communicators throughout, and their crew were fantastic. Showed up on time and worked hard every day. We were amazed at how much they accomplished, and everything was completed more quickly than I would have thought possible. The fact that they handled all aspects of the project using their own workers was a huge contributing factor to that, I am sure. And made the process completely painless on our end.

The end result is everything we hoped for, and we’ve received compliments from everyone who’s seen it – one even said it belonged in a magazine!

We worked with Interactive Landscapes to design and develop our relatively small backyard in 2018 and they were fantastic to work with. Based on some design sketches we made, they created a few options for us, met with us to discuss, and came up with a layout and landscaping plan that was better than we hoped. They recommended plants and materials that not only matched the aestheic we were looking for, but didn’t break our budget.

When doing the work, they were efficient, courteous, and clean. The quality of the work was excellent. Afterwards, we had an issue where the drip system wasn’t hitting a small row of plants and they didn’t survive. Stan and team came back and took care of it for us, no problem.

We hired them again this year (2020) to improve an area we left alone in the original work, and again were overjoyed with the results.

Stan and Neli listened to our goals for our backyard project and took the time to work through our changing design ideas as the project evolved. Interactive Landscapes is a very appropriate name for their business. They turned our muddy, sloping backyard into a beautiful, low maintenance space for small gatherings.

Once the design was finalized and work began, the crew showed up and worked from 8 am to 4 pm every weekday until the job was done. Most importantly, it was a pleasure working with Stan and Neli.

We particularly appreciated that the contract included a detailed list of project activities and their associated costs that was updated weekly as work progressed and changes were made.

Stan and Neli were wonderful to work with! Their design matched our aesthetic well, and they offered creative solutions to work around our requirements. We really liked the fact that they handled both the design and the installation, which enabled us to flex on the fly as the project progressed — modifying, tweaking things as needed more seamlessly. They helped us work within our budget — selecting premium materials for aspects that matter most (e.g. decks) and steering us towards lower cost options in other places. We stayed relatively on schedule, despite some minor rain delays. They were responsive and accessible, making themselves available as needed for check-ins. Their crew was skilled and professional, and did a nice job on the more complex aspects — like the outdoor kitchen. We highly recommend using Interactive Landscapes for your yard project!

Working with Stan and Interactive Landscapes was a great experience. Stan came in after a different landscape contractor abandoned my project and it was such a difference working with Stan. I ended up with a much better design than what was originally planned and despite the headache of having had to deal with a bad contractor, I am glad they left and I have a nicer yard as a result. Stan was easy to work with and his crew was great. I am fairly picky about details and plants and had drainage issues in my yard and Stan was patient and responsive to my concerns. I had a retaining curb built, artificial turf installed, new plants, and irrigation installed. The workmanship is good and the job was done quickly. I highly recommend working with them!

Stan and Neli were fantastic from start to finish. We originally reached out to them in early 2019 to start a formal design plan for a complete backyard remodel. We really like the fact that everything was “in house” with them (meaning they could do a complete design with us as well as all of the work, with no need for us to sub-contract anything. A huge plus in my book).

Both Stan and Neli were easy to communicate with, helpful yet not pushy and were patient with my wife and I as we had many questions along the way. Their crew was absolutely the best crew we have ever had out at our house. They were courteous, respectful of our property and never made excess noise or seemed to be wasting time. Stan and Neli did an amazing job transforming our front and back yards into something amazing! Over the years, our landscaping had become tired and overgrown. We struggled for years to figure out what we wanted to do, then we met Stan and Neli. They came up with a fantastic design that met our needs and exceeded our expectations. They were then able to execute on the design and meet our super tight schedule. They’re great to work with, as is their entire crew. We would recommend them to anyone! We love our backyard!

We used Interactive Landscape to do a big project for us. You can see it on their PoolHandy website under Piedmont Residence. We have a huge backyard that is about the same length as our house. It is on a slope and before the project it was full of onion plants and crabgrass. In addition to a sad backyard, we also had a major drainage problem with water running into our basement and we needed to replace our front stairs.

Interactive Landscape did drainage around our property and shunted it out to the gutter. They replaced the 25 concrete steps up to our house and repaired wood rot that extended into our house. In the backyard, they put in a paver patio, retaining walls, two sets of paver stairs, a lawn, built onto our irrigation system, put in lighting and planted plants.

Stan, the owner, was excellent to work with. We have worked with a number of contractors over our 14 years of being home owners, and Interactive Landscapes was by far the easiest company to work with. Stan is very organized and responsive. I never worried that he was going to abandon us in the middle of the project or towards the end, and move on to another project as contractors tend to do. Contractors often seem to operate in a different universe from the rest of us and can be very unprofessional. Stan isn’t like that at all. He was extremely reliable and pleasant to work with. His crew was very polite and friendly and extremely hard working. His billing was straightforward and clear.

I wish his company did inside work as well because I would hire them in a second to do a future project.

Before we hired Interactive Landscapes, we had a landscape architect do a design for our backyard. Stan interfaced with our landscape architect and another contractor we had hired earlier in the year who was addressing a portion of our drainage problem connected with our garage. He also dealt with the company we bought a hot tub from in terms of installation and electrical. It was great to be able to trust him to interface with these other companies and individuals, rather than me having to carry information between them.

Stan and his wife Neli made a number of suggestions to our landscape architect’s plans as we went along. We implemented the changes and are happy with the improvements to the design. Our landscape architect, who has been in the business 30 years, reviewed Stan’s bid for the job and he was very impressed with Stan’s thoroughness. He said that he thought Interactive Landscapes’ pricing was very competitive and that he would be sending more work Stan’s way. If we had any other exterior projects, we would use them again but they did everything for us already!

I cannot say more about Stan and Neli! They were incredibly easy to work with from the initial design through the job completion. I liked their design aesthetic on PoolHandy, but they were also able to interpret what I had in mind perfectly. They were efficient, effective, and level-headed when components arriving from other vendors were unreasonably delayed and their honesty is beyond compare. They continue to be responsive when I notice a plant not doing well, have a question, etc.

Interactive Landscapes was recommended to us by one of our friends. We contacted them regarding our Artificial turf requirements and from our 1st contact with them to final project completion, the experience was amazing.

Additionally, while working on our project, they went above and beyond to help trouble-shoot and pro-actively help with getting our irrigation system back into service.

Neli and Stan are amazing professionals, extremely polite, honest and accomodating. They are very knowledgable landscape designers with excellent tastes and the quality of their work is exceptional.
