I have worked in Landscape & Swimming Pool Design (including independently and for “Top 50” national pool builder as designer) for 30+ years. Have collaborated on 25+ pool projects, in Hawaii and on mainland, with Mr. Steven Warsh and Maui Meadows Pools and Masonry. In every instance he has been straight forward to work with and a seasoned professional/veteran in the industry. He takes good care of his clients.

Steve called me minutes after I submitted my Home Advisor request for a quote, and over the next month, we worked together to make a plan for our backyard space. Steve was always incredibly kind, honest, authentic, and worked within the budget we had set for our project. When his crew began the work, I was amazed–they were all so prompt and kind and supportive. They made me feel like I was the most important project they had going on. Travis did a great job of prep work, then Ben and his team were incredible when they poured the concrete for our backyard. Marshall paid great attention to detail and was so gracious about our needs. Ben even came back the next day to check the work, clean our fence and home from any concrete that got on it. The entire experience was amazing…at times I thought it was too good to be true, but it’s not, it’s all very true! I would hire this team without any hesitation and you will be in very, very good, kind hands.

I don’t typically write negative reviews and try to give people the benefit of the doubt. In this situation I feel it’s absolutely necessary to warn others of this contractor. We originally signed an agreement with Steve Warsh of Maui Meadows Pool & Masonry to install a pool and rock wall. He provided fabulous 3-D images and his sales technique was impressive and convincing. Although our neighbor behind us had used his company to install his pool, he failed to mention that to us. Being new homeowners, a few weeks later met the neighbor behind us. We shared with him we were installing a pool and he then informed us of the extremely negative experience they had with Maui Meadows Pool and Masonry. The next red flag was his check to our HOA for $200 bounced. We then realized his contract was very vague and asked him to give us a more detailed contract (per the advice of our neighbor, as he stated that Mr. Warsh conveniently forgot the details or promises of many conversations). Once this was produced, there was so much conflicting information we just couldn’t sign it. We then started having problems with the County. They informed us that the architect stamp was not original, was outdated and there was no original Architect signature. This resulted in a lot of back-and-forth, lies and conflicting information from Mr. Warsh. At that point we decided to cancel our agreement with him. He signed a new agreement to refund $5000 of the $11,500 deposit we had given him. We wanted to pay him for the work he had done (which was only the production of the plans, submittal to the Association and County) but part of that deposit was for a rock wall which absolutely nothing took place. He signed the agreement which contained a payment schedule to repay us over a period of four months (at his request). After missing two deadlines, he gave us a check for half of the first missed payment. We have been advised that there is another small claims action against him as well as complaints with the DCCA. Be very careful with this company! He will promise you the world but won’t remember what he told you when push comes to shove.

Steve’s company put in an extensive backyard pool Spa Hot Tub & Sauna system. His design went well beyond my expectations and the cost was significantly less than other comparable systems. I have recommended his company to many of my friends and will continue to do so.
