About the designer Our Founder, Claudia Lopez, fell in love with plants as a child. She obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Agronomy and became a leading plant pathologist for the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT). Seeking fresh opportunities, Claudia then moved to Miami, where she could continue to apply her knowledge of tropical plants. After noticing that her neighbors were frustrated with the service from local landscaping companies, Claudia founded Sugar Green Gardens in 2011. Claudia has now led Sugar Green Gardens for 10+ years, with that same passion she had as a child still fueling our work.
