Rob and his crew are the most professional group I have been fortunate enough to work with in a very long time. Rob helped us work within our budget and create our “dream come true”. He is so honest and never promises something he can’t deliver. We interviewed probably 10 different pool companies and we made the BEST decision going with Long Can Group. Some of my other friends who are building pools have had such issues with the bigger name pool companies. It’s so refreshing to be able to work with people you can trust and who have true integrity. My husband and I hired Long Cane Group after seeing the wonderful work he did on a neighbor’s pool and deck project. They had just completed their build and we were just coming off a bad experience with a local pool company who had promised installation on a certain date and were well past that with no end in site. After canceling that contract, we were worried about hiring someone reliable and trustworthy. Boy were we glad we followed their recommendation to meet with Rob and discuss our project!

We met with Rob and outlined our design ideas, he was awesome to work with and made recommendations that we ended up loving which enhanced what we already had in mind. His team is phenomenal-everyone on his team was amazing. Anyone who came to our house as a part of the build was professional, respectful of our property and showed up on time as expected. In this day and age that is nothing short of miraculous!!

In addition, we have 4 crazy dogs and we were worried about how we were going to manage them throughout the construction period (all we imagined were the 4 of them jumping in the giant hole in our backyard and mud EVERYWHERE). Rob was happy to help manage that and his team constructed a barrier around the pool construction area to accommodate a dog run which kept our dogs out of the giant excavated hole and us sane! The other pool company basically told us too bad, your dogs are your problem, but not Rob! He worked with us throughout the whole project even as we made design and other changes. He truly has the patience of a saint:).

Our deck and pool area is now a beautiful addition to our backyard (along with the privacy landscaping that his team designed and installed). We are thrilled with the communication, professionalism, responsiveness and overall excellence that Rob and his whole team provided throughout the whole project and would recommend Long Cane Group without hesitation to anyone! We love our new pool and will be enjoying it with our family and grandchildren for a long time to come.

Rob Harrison and his Long Cane Group provided a “one-stop-shop” for building and integrating a backyard pool that flows directly off our porch. The work included building the pool, installing unique water/fire features, adding gas lanterns, grading and sodding the backyard, building a “pool barn” for pool supplies and lawn equipment, replanting ornamental trees, and installing landscape lighting. Let me start by saying this review is long past due:
Last year my wife and I had a home built in Canton, GA. Prior to our home being finished, I started researching, reading reviews, and interviewing local pool companies to help design and build our pool once we closed. Though I “love” the water and everything about it, outside of swimming, enjoying, and entertaining, I don’t know much about pools. From the moment I spoke with Rob Harrison, I knew there was something different about Rob and his company.

Rob met with me, asked questions such as “what’s important to us”, “what are your must haves”, “what’s on your wish list” etc. Rob listened to my crazy ideas, looked at pictures that I’d pulled off the internet, and reviewed drawings that I had sketched. Looking back I’m sure I was “one of those guys”. Rob came back to me a couple of days later with a drawing and quote. I couldn’t believe how tuned-in Rob was to what I was looking for. He was able to put on paper, what I had difficulty explaining. Even though we didn’t discuss a budget, Rob came in at where my wife and I was hoping to be.

We closed on our home and within a couple of weeks Rob and his team got to work. Rob communicated with me regularly of what was currently going on, and what was coming up next. It’s important that everyone acknowledges that this build took place in the middle of a pandemic with severe supply issues. Everything was on back order, and there were allocations on materials. Rob kept me informed which, is really important to me.

We also had an outdoor grill area built. Unfortunately we had an issue with our grill. Rob worked every avenue possible but was unable to get the grill manufacturer to replace/resolve the issue with the grill. Rob ended up replacing my grill with a larger, more expensive grill than what he had spec’d and in my quote. This involved having his masonry crew cut and rework some of the stone. Rob was apologetic and did this at his expense…..class act.

I realize my review is starting to run long, so I will finish with this: Rob couldn’t have done it without his professional contractors. They were truly champions of their trade and many, if not all have been working with, and for Rob for a very long time. Coming from the trades myself (plumber), I paid close attention to how Rob spoke to his employees and subcontractors. He spoke to and treated them with respect and appreciation for what they did.

To wrap this up: Rob and the Long Cane Group made my wife and I’s dream a reality. I have and will continue to recommend them.

We actually didn’t do much looking around before going with Rob Harrison of Long Cane Group. Rob and his company came highly recommended. We wanted a pool, patio, outdoor kitchen and backyard landscaping done while our new home was being built. Rob had worked with our home builder before so we thought this would be a good fit. It ended up being more than a good fit.
Ours was a very big project and Rob was creative in his design, helpful, communicative and receptive to our ideas and questions…every step of the way. We ended up with EVERYTHING we wanted. Our backyard is truly an extension of Our indoor living space and it is beautiful and functional. We’ve only been in the house a couple months but there hasn’t been a day yet that we haven’t used our backyard. As I said, it is everything we wanted and more because of Rob and Long Cane Group.

We have used Long Cane for several major landscaping projects over the last 20 years. The result was always better than we expected. Their design skills are stunning and their installation is first class. Most recently we used them to redesign our backyard after an expansion of our property. Before that, they redesigned both the front and backyard of the smaller property, installing both hardscapes including a beautiful pergola and patio, and a grass-crete driveway. Years ago, they corrected a drainage problem at a previous house, designed a marvelous backyard, and installed a small pond.

Rob is professional, honest, detailed, creative, and onsite every day throughout the process! His contractors showed up as expected, worked tirelessly from 7:30-6:30 every day, and were true craftsmen with amazing attention to detail. Each custom request was handled promptly and to our satisfaction! He went above and beyond to be sure our project would blend into and enhance the landscape of our yard. We specifically chose Long Cane because of Rob’s extensive knowledge of landscape/drainage planning (in addition to his creative design skills). With a history of drainage issues in our backyard we wanted our project to have a beautiful and functional end result with the flow of surrounding water through the yard to being a priority from day 1. We did not want drainage to be an after thought through a separate contractor at the end of the project. Rob not only met our expectations, but he exceeded them. We feel like we are at a vacation resort every time we step outside. Our yard and pool turned out more beautiful than we had hoped. We have been extremely pleased by the work done by Rob and the Long Cane Group. They built a magnificent gunite pool in our backyard together with a functional grilling area, a spacious paver deck, and a gorgeous fireplace. The quality of work was exceptional, from the design of the entire pool area, to the unbelievable hand-made stone work, to the very fine landscaping. Our backyard was truly transformed into our private club which continues to amaze visitors to our home. Moreover, the responsiveness to address any post-completion question or to educate us on how to properly maintain our pool has been excellence. Rob helped us transform an unusable back yard into a backyard oasis. Our back yard had a large hill covered in Junipers with significant drainage issues. Rob was able to imagine a terraced design that maximized our pool deck and usable grassy area while also addressing the drainage. Rob also focused on blending the pool into the design of our 15 year old house so that it looks like it was built together.

We feel like we are in a resort when we spend time at the pool and our neighbors can’t believe the differences. Rob’s specialty in landscape design also resulted in a beautiful landscape surrounding the pool.

We consistently heard throughout the process from contractors and inspectors that Long Cane was the most reputable pool builder in Milton. The introduction to the pool was very smooth with Rob’s team providing the necessary instruction on how to properly maintain the pool.

Building a pool during Covid presented challenges with delays of supplies and workers. Rob kept up good communication with us when we had concerns about the timeline. Every major project has challenges, we worked through these challenges together and were able to come to a fair outcome. We appreciated Rob’s focus on building a quality product and maintaining a good relationship.

Creating a pool in a challenging yard during a pandemic was a long process, but it was worth the wait and if we were to do it again, we would choose Long Cane.

We are in the real-estate business and purchased a property that needed a complete landscape remodel. The topography of the property was difficult and was beyond the scope of our typical landscape renovation. We therefore contacted Rob Harrison at the Long Cane Group for help. Rob met us at the property, we talked about the challenges of the project, what we wanted to try to accomplish with the remodel and our budget. As we all talked and walked Rob made notes and sketches. At the end of the meeting Rob told us that he would formalize the sketches and get back to us with a plan. The formalized plans blew us away since they captured everything that we wanted and would transform a basically useless rear yard into an outdoor living space and a wasteland of a front yard into something that would give the property ‘street appeal’. Needless to say we hired Rob to do the job.

Over the next 6 months Rob transformed the formalized plans into a masterpiece that exceeded all of our expectations. We had an inground spa, a stream with a waterfall into the spa, retaining walls, unbelievable stonework, patios, limestone steps, outdoor shower, outdoor kitchen and fire pit. Our originally useless rear yard, once transformed, was used for a 120 guest wedding shower for our daughter.!! As far as the front yard is concerned, the neighbors are still talking about it 2 years later.!!

Rob was an absolute pleasure to work with and always stayed calm even under pressure. As with any remodel or renovation project (and this was a BIG one) there are always unexpected hickups and / or problems. Rob took them in his stride and handled them like a true professional. I would highly recommend the Long Cane Group to handle any landscaping project, either large and small.

Our dream of having our own swimming pool came true with the expertise and great care Rob and his team provided. From start to finish, Rob was always available to answer any questions or concerns. In January 2012, we contracted with Rob Harrison of Long Cane Group to install an in-ground gunite pool for our home in East Cobb. Rob came out to discuss what we had in mind and offered a number of suggestions that we hadn’t considered. We decided to go with many of his ideas including minimizing dirt removal and use the natural topography of our backyard that resulted in a raised beam back wall for the pool and a multi-tier entertainment layout. We are very pleased with the final result and now entertain often with constant compliments from our guests. Most comments resemble that they cannot believe this is in your backyard and not at a resort.
