Landscapes by Davids recently transformed our entire yard into a beautiful and usable part of our home. From the first meeting David Niles incorporated our thoughts and the style of our home into his vision. He solved one of our largest challenges with a unique idea to raise a portion of the yard. This allowed us to create the exact space we wanted. Once construction began with David Boone, the benefit of the architect and contractor being partners was evident. The coordination and ability to make real time additions or changes made the construction process a thrill. The crew was friendly, timely and highly skilled. They were able to install all of our hard scape, including a large limestone patio, and plantings just as we envisioned. In the end Landscapes by Davids transformation of our home exceeded our expectations.

Landscapes by Davids did an exceptional planning, design and construction of our home’s exterior gate, motor court and courtyard areas for our Montecito home. They were meticulous in planning and sourced the finest available trees and plants. We appreciated their expert knowledge on native plants and draught tolerant options. Their team and installation crew was courteous and professional at all times. They also custom designed a feature wall of Spanish style tile with complimentary water feature. This was expertly designed with careful attention to symmetrical considerations for tile placement and wall feature borders. Quality was of highest priority as they installed irrigation systems and also sourced planters. Our project was completed ahead of schedule. It has been amazing to see the growth and development in all of the plantings just weeks after completion. Overall, Landscapes by David greatly exceeded our expectations and we will look forward to working with them on additional landscaping projects. 6 Stars!

Landscapes by Davids did a wonderful job landscaping my yard–beauty met functionality. David Niles is a true visionary on design,
but flexible, accessible and responsive regarding adjustments. I really liked that he could easily reimagine if necessary as the project proceeded.
David Boone was equally good in his areas of expertise involving infrastructure, primarily electrical, irrigation, gas, overseeing stonework, etc. I’ve never had an irrigation system work so well!
The crew was terrific, very hard workers. And I chose to continue with their maintenance services as well, who are also doing a great job.
Landscapes by Davids continues to be accessible and responsive if anything comes up which is unusual in my experiance.

We recently had a flagstone “sun patio” installed by Landscapes By Davids and are so pleased with the results. It was installed in an area at the end of our pool that was previously grass. Our new patio has become a favorite place for morning coffee, an afternoon book read, or sharing a glass of wine at the end of the day, The two David’s worked with us and could “visualize” our plan and what we wanted to accomplish. They were with the project every step of the way and always quick with a response to any questions or changes we made. If we weren’t pleased, they weren’t pleased. We had a neighborhood gathering on July 4th and everyone LOVED our new sun patio. One of the most heard comments was “it looks like it has always been there!” and “that is exactly what that area needed!” “Brilliant!!” Would not hesitate to recommend Landscapes by Davids and will certainly use them again on our next landscape project.

David Niles and David Boone of Landscapes By Davids transformed our dirt patch into a delightful cottage garden. Using humor and professionalism, they were able to modify what I had envisioned into a cohesive flowing garden with flagstone patio, steps, and bench, as well as lighting, irrigation and gorgeous plantings. All of their people are meticulous professionals who were both courteous and helpful. They worked quickly and finished without going over budget. Working with Landscapes by Davids has been a wonderful experience. I interviewed many local landscaping companies prior to selecting Landscapes by Davids. When I met David Niles I was so taken by the fact that he was able to look at my property and understand that the landscaping called for being an extension of the woodland area that my property is adjacent to. I moved to SB about a year ago and I have to say it is a challenge getting businesses to respond. I was delighted that I was introduced to the Davids’ and I was pleasantly surprised. Their work was creative, professional and reliable. The work was done in a timely matter and their team work professional, timely and did an outstanding job. We love our property after Landscapes By Davids completed the 2020 landscape upgrade project. We have a ~1-acre property in Santa Barbara that needed landscape and property-wide irrigation upgrading. We received several bids and selected Landscapes by David’s to complete the project. The project has just been completed and we are very satisfied with the work completed by Landscapes by David’s. The project scope included the following:

• Removal of old plants including extensive ivy ground cover, a large juniper hedge and lawn,
• Designing, laying out / adjusting as needed and installation of a new property-wide irrigation system including 9 new valves, ~1500’ of drip system water lines, backflow system, new sprinkler heads, 5 new spigots and a water station central controller,
• Selected removal of the existing property sprinkler and drip system,
• Selection, delivery and planting of 10 new trees (olive (3), marina strawberry (6) and lemon (1)),
• Design of a new front yard sitting area with gravel,
• Laying out and planting of 525+ new plants of multiple sizes including a new boxwood hedge and property line 6-foot tall hedge plants,
• Laying out and installation of an artificial lawn in the side-back yard,
• Design and installation of brick hardscape for a new spa,
• Installation of 220-volt and 110-volt system for the spa and side yard,
• Installation of low voltage lighting system, with two controllers and about 20 different lights and
• Addition of mulch

Landscapes by David’s completed the project under budget and in roughly 2.4 calendar months (52 actual workdays). We are very satisfied with their work. Every day during the project, 3 very capable workers were working at our property from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM in a very professional manner. Landscapes by David’s is an excellent firm with complete knowledge on all aspects of the project and excellent, technical, dedicated and courteous workers. They help you lay out the project initially to compliment your existing property and are very project management focused in managing and completing the project. We strongly recommend them for any landscape project you are considering.

David Niles and David Boone, of Landscapes by David, created a beautiful and serene landscape that has transformed my front yard and enhanced the look of my house. At my first meeting with David Niles, he envisioned a more contemporary look to complement my mid-century ranch style house and give my long corner lot a more cohesive feel, which is exactly what I was looking for. From conceptual plan to landscape completion, I couldn’t be happier with the outcome and how smoothly the project proceeded. I love the selection of plants, which are all drought-tolerant, and how there’s a natural flow to the landscaping that achieves that cohesiveness. The Davids replaced the driveway and front walk with pavers that add to the overall look, and improved the drainage and access along the side of my house by adding a stone retaining wall and walkway with proper drainage. The quality of their work and attention to details is evident throughout the project.

David Niles and David Boone are very knowledgeable and professional. They have a good sense of design and are passionate about their work. Their crew is hard-working, skilled, attentive to details, and considerate. The Davids kept me informed throughout the project and would consult with me on proposed changes. And every suggestion improved the final product. They kept me apprised on the costs, were on target with their estimate, and completed the project in a timely manner. It was a pleasure working with the Davids. I am thrilled with the result and enjoy coming home to my beautiful landscaped front yard.
