It is with great pleasure that my wife and I write this letter of recommendation for Poole’s Stone and Garden, Inc. [hereinafter referred to as Poole’s Stone]. From our first interaction to the completion of our patio, they did a great job and, a year after the project has been completed, the patio is still our pride and joy.
From the beginning, we knew that our patio project was going to be expensive. So we interviewed and received estimates from three different landscape companies; all three had great reputations and referrals. From the start of our interactions, however, our interactions with Poole’s Stone stood out from the other two. Sharon Stone, head of sales, held a long meeting with my wife and me to look over our property and a rough drawing of our vision for the patio to better understand what we wanted. Only then, did she go in the back of the house and take pictures and make the appropriate measurements. After she was done, she told us she would prepare a drawing and get back to us within a week to go over the drawing to make sure that it reflected our wants. Within a week, she brought back a set of professional drawings. During our discussion, she made several very helpful suggestions that not only greatly improved the proposed product, but also, surprisingly, reduced its total cost. She then went back to her office and made changes to her drawing, sent us the revision along with and an estimate, which we signed and returned to her. Then she set up a date to start construction.
Sharon’s husband, Bruce, is the construction supervisor. He and five workers pulled up to the house early on the morning of the scheduled start date with several trucks loaded with stone and sand. The workers worked hard, were meticulous, and very courteous. They also worked long days and, if they took a break, it was for a short period of time even though it was hot outside. They worked hard for five straight days in transforming our unfinished, post-construction backyard into a well-drained, beautifully constructed patio. During every stage of construction, Poole’s Stone used top-quality materials and employed excellent construction practice. When a neighbor requested that the drainage from the patio be moved away from the border between our properties, Pool’s Stone immediately accommodated this request by moving the drainage to the center of the patio and extending it out as far away from the back of the house as possible without any change in the final price of the project. At the end of the project, Sharon met with us and went over the completed project. She made sure that we were satisfied with end result and went even further by following up with a phone call a few days later to make sure that our opinion had not changed.
So without hesitation, we would give Poole’s Stone an overall grade of “A” for constructing our patio. More specifically, their price was competitive with the other companies even though they offered much more in terms of the drawings, interactions, and construction practice. The quality of their workmanship, materials, and construction process was excellent. We are very proud of our patio. Throughout, both Bruce and Sharon were true professionals. They started construction on time and, once they started our project, they gave it their full attention until the project was completed.
In closing, it has been a year since the patio was finished. It still looks great and we are very pleased with it. We would definitely go back to Poole’s Stone for our next landscape project.
