We have had the pleasure of working with Sherrerds for over three years on a multi-phase complete re-design of all aspects of landscaping and hardscaping on our 3+ acre property. Heather is in a league of her own as a landscape designer — a brilliant artist with an encyclopedic knowledge of her field and very pragmatic ways of making what she envisions real. The entire Sherrerds team, led by Bill and Heather, have been excellent to work with and have helped transform the overgrown, dated and “tired” looking landscaping we acquired when we bought our home into a beautiful sanctuary that we love in all seasons. We highly recommend them for any project, from overall design through ongoing maintenance.

We have used Heather and Bill on 5 projects over the last 4 years. I have found them to be creative, careful, comfortable to have around and accurate with their budget. Heather is a particular delight, not only with her creativity but also in her enthusiasm to impart her plant knowledge and care to us. Heather looks at our total property to ensure that design directions work with the whole landscape not just a corner segment. She listens to what we are interested in and gives us several different concepts to choose from. We have found her easy to work with when we have wanted to change something, while still offering substitutions that keep the integrity of the design. Heather always gets costs to us before any changes are made or plants ordered. They are as timely as possible in getting work started and completed, being on the property every non-rainy day provided. When we dealt with cement issues they delayed the project until the weeks of rain abated, rather than pouring cement under poor conditions. We appreciate that attention to detail. When we were first establishing our meadow and weeds were invading faster than we could pull, Bill arrived unexpectedly and was helping us pull them. Sherrerds takes a personal interest in your property and apply gentleness and love to the project.
Our projects have included excavating and planting a secret Moon garden, creating new front and back walkways with drainage, two different native species meadows, tree and shrub replacements from storm damage, and selection and placement of large rocks to highlight landscape features.

I have been working with Heather for over 10 years. She has great taste and professional from start to finish. She landscaped our entire front yard. we get many compliments. she also designed and installed a lovely zen garden, as well as our pool area. she also seasonally replaces a large container on the front porch and every Christmas does an outdoor wreath. She also helped choose and fill large and small deck pots including a few interesting water plants, like papyrus.
