Topiarius’ masterpieces are truly a work of art. There isn’t a season that goes by when someone walking by our house does not comment on our front yard containers and boxes. When we bring guests out back to see our garden, they tell us how much they love our flowers and ask who does them. We even had a neighbor tell us that her parents enjoy their backyard more because our flowers are always stunning and colorful to look at. We can’t say enough good things about working with Topiarius. We love the seasonal rotation, the weekly service, the irrigation and the fact that when we go out of town, our flowers will be alive when we return. It’s peace of mind in the summer time. I also love that in winter I have some green and color to look at. Topiarius is easy to work with, open to feedback, keeps us updated on their installs and service visits and I think it’s so professional they leave us a paper marketing off what they accomplished each week. Craig, Sara and the crew do an amazing job. Their design and build expertise is top-notch, plus their manner and personality in working with homeowners is amazing which truly sets them apart from the rest in Chicago and in the industry. I engaged with Topiarius for front landscaping, back-yard landscaping, and a truly inspirational modern deck above our garage. Given we live in the City of Chicago and is very urban, having this incredible nature retreat in our backyard allows for great entertaining and zen-like relaxation.

The work done was so amazing that 20th Century Fox filmed a TV pilot at our house, they included scenes from the back-yard and front landscaping.

From design to clean-up, every single person at Topiarius was professional, kind, and a pleasure to deal with. The design and craftsmanship is unlike that of any other firm I’ve hired at other homes–creative, detailed, and thoughtful. No subtlety–even my requests to make the yard truly dog-friendly or our desire to transform a brick wall into art–was lost in the design and plantings. I’ve never seen anything like the fence they built for us; it is architecturally stunning and beautifully built. I would smile every time I saw a new email from Craig as he sent update photos for the things being built in their workshop.

Installation was a breeze, and because our project began in autumn and was completed in the spring, the team had to return for final plantings and clean-ups. I’ve worked with enough contractors to know that getting people back to finish a job months after it’s begun is the hard part, but not with Topiarius. Jim and his crew were responsive, quick, and thorough.

Our yard looks great, as does our new roof deck. The hardscaping and design features Topiarius built for us enhance our yard, but they also make the inside of our home more beautiful, because I can see the work from every window in my house. Topiarius has been our landscaper for many years now., maybe a decade? They created the design for our yard and have been maintaining it ever since. It has been our pleasure to work with them. I find them to be very attentive and collaborative, which is so important to me. Our landscaping is not elaborate, but it is distinctive and I am asked who we use on a regular basis. With confidence I pass along the name Topiarius.

We hired Topiarius for two purposes – seasonal landscaping and design as well as a complete renovation of our front yard. They were and continue to be unbelievable to work with!! The design and budget process for our front yard included multiple visits with multiple samples shown to us. There was no moment at which we did not feel confident in their knowledge or capabilities. Then the installation of the front yard was seamless and efficient. From plants and bulbs to a blue stone side walkway and front walkway (with snow melt), the Topiarius team handled all aspects with great care and detail. They also coordinated with our sprinkler system company and hired out the snow melt wiring. So simple and easy for us! (This team included Amy and Gabby leading the design and installation, respectively.)

Our seasonal landscaping and design are lead by Chris Walsh. Wow!! What fantastic designs!! We constantly receive compliments on the different seasonal plants and flowers that Chris and his team install. He’s always open to ideas and always available to alter designs to better meet our budget.
