I am appalled by the negative reviews I see on Houzz in regards to Tucker Design and Build.
I myself have owned multiple properieties throughout Florida, All with outdoor entertainment and pools. I have worked with multiple companies who simply sub-contract work ; leaving a mess, false promises and lack of communication for MYSELF to deal with.
From day one Bruce was clear and prompt on pricing, design and engineering.
My deck, pool finish and landscape couldn’t have been done any better than what Bruce and his team did for my backyard oasis.
What his team and himself say – They do.
As a homeowner, nothing is better than seeing uniformed men working within your backyard.
Any person who is worried for these negative reviews, I urge you to meet Bruce and allow his work and actions to speak for themselves. His professionalism and organization is like none other within the industry.

Would NEVER recommend this company. Bruce had a great idea but the workmanship was so poor that tile work had to re-done 3 times. He and his project manager would talk about and blame each other for every issue. There were many issues and it would take weeks and longer to get a response. Nothing was finished the way it should have been or was promised. The equipment was installed improperly and we were never provided the proper paperwork as promised to warranty all of the equipment. There was always an excuse or a promise to get things done. Empty promises and unprofessional work. Our 6 week project wasn’t finished 9 months later until we hired a reputable contractor to finish the job. One star rating is being kind

We have used Tucker Design Build on numerous projects over the past few years.
I felt it was time to give Bruce and his team credit for the countless hours of hard work that have gone into our projects by writing a review. We have very high expectations when it comes to design and they are always met by Bruce and his team members. They take their time and pay attention to the intricate detail to ensure it is done properly. Bruce always answers his phone, or quickly calls me back. I tell Bruce what we need and he always goes above and beyond to be sure we are happy. We know with Bruce we are ordering steak and getting the filet. If you are looking to significantly improve your outdoor living space I recommend Tucker Design Build for all aspects of your project.

1st let me say that Im NOT the type to leave reviews for businesses. I can order fish at a restaurant & get chicken & I feel bad to make a peep. Im a business owner myself and would hate for someone to leave a negative review on my company. So this is very out of character for me to even write a review like this. BUT after giving Bruce Tucker Design Build countless chances to make right I am forced to leave a very detailed negative review. Little over 2.5 years ago I found his company online. I wanted to do something unique in the backyard revolved around a huge fire pit sitting area. Bruce came to my house and at his advisory I paid him 1200 for renderings on an elaborate idea he had. Plan ended up being a $45000 combo of firepit sitting area, water feature circle area, swinging chairs circle area, landscaping, lighting, etc. (more than I had planned) He said it would be an easy 6 week project. Demo happened fast. I thought it was sloppy from the beginning when they just dumped mounds of dirt in front of my curb. Huge mounds. Garbage wouldnt take so I had to pay landscapers on the side to take it all. After demo there would be many days where nobody would show up. Id be promised the job would be started & days would go by with literally nobody coming. The frustrated feeling of coming home from a long day of work excited to see progress on this big project and day after day there was just zero done. I heard it all from “Im down some workers” “Guys didn’t show up” “Waiting on supplies”. Then some work would be done, we’d see some progress – then again, ghost for days/weeks at a time. It got to point when I’d call Bruce when I got home venting about his “timeline” and why nobody showed up hed ACTUALLY YELL AT ME FOR CALLING AFTER 6PM & THAT HE WASNT GETTING ALONG WITH HIS WIFE. Well sorry Bruce. I work and I get home after 6 and your company was doing nothing for the project. Fast fwd water feature finally gets installed & it looks terrible. When I called Bruce he did- in his defense -immediately agree it didn’t look good at all and it’d be removed and replaced. Mind you, it looked nothing like the examples he showed me in the $1200 rendering, nothing. We are now 3-4 months into the 6 week project and I have a big party coming up. I had to make threats to Bruce to get the job done in time. I even bet his project manager guy James $500 it wouldn’t be done in time. After constant vents of frustration, borderline arguing. Hed have just 1 guy 2 tops here working. Never a full crew. Then when its time to get the electric work done Im told thats an extra expense I have to pay their electrician directly. We knew there were lights and power needed for the water feature from inception right? & I was quoted an amount right? Now Im being told an extra $1000+ in electric work? Not cool but at this point anything to just get the job done. They get it 90% done 4 mos later and in time for party. I did NOT make his worker pay me the 500 bet even though he admitted I was right. They slowly finished afterwards. 4-5 months. Youd think it’s over now right? 1+ year later lights start going out on me! LED “brand new” landscaping light fixtures. Slowly 1 by 1 stop working! Huge middle circle of sand and spiral turf is now eroded. Weeds growing out, huge areas of missing sand, cracks around fireplace, starting to fall apart. I finally get them out here for the bad lights they have the nerve to charge me 1000! It gets better-IM STILL WILLING TO GIVE BRUCE AN OPP TO MAKE RIGHT AND COME UP WITH A NEW LOW MAINTENANCE PLAN FOR THE ERODING SAND AREA! MONTHS go by months. Im chasing him and his slow guy Bob. 4 months endless texts, friendly reminders. Just more excuses. Never accountability. Never showed me as a human he wanted to come correct this time & salvage the relationship especially how the 1st experience went. Now Im 2 yrs later with eroding work, broken firepit, bad lights a company that wont take responsibility & THEY DONT CALL OR TEXT ME BACK! Now Im forced to have their competitors come & invest more $ into this. I dont talk bad about people. Bad experience.

I am so pleased with how Tucker Design transformed my home with their amazing landscape design. Bruce met with me and my husband and listened to my desire to clean up the over grown old landscaping. Our yard was in terrible shape from previous owners. He not only designed exquisite landscaping but he put in all new landscape lighting and totally rebuilt the sprinkler system. He cleaned up the patio pavers and pergola. So happy with the result. He was very responsive and patient with me throughout the process. He created an amazing Oasis for us. The landscape lighting is so beautiful and highlights his work. Thank you, Bruce!

Bruce is an amazing designer and working with him is actually a lot of fun. He is working with us to match my wife’s exact specifications and he never makes us feel bad about being picky or asking questions. If you see his finished work, you will know you’re working with a talented and rare designer who’s knowledge and expletives stretches beyond just landscaping and pools. I highly recommend using Tucker for your driveway, pool, landscape architecture, or putting green!

Tucker Design Build was instrumental at providing our yard a fresh clean new look. During our Design Meeting the landscape architect listened carefully to my wife’s desire to add more color along with my desire for a more chiseled look. The resulting landscape plan achieved both of our goals while at the same time continued to complement our surrounding neighbors.

The implementation of the plan took a little longer than I expected to fully implement, but I quickly came to realize that getting the right plants (variety, size and healthy condition) is far more important than getting whatever is immediately available at the growers. Tucker Design took the time to get the job done correctly for the long-run instead of making a quick dollar that would only look good for one spring season.

At the time of installation, we received helpful recommendations for the ongoing care and maintenance of plants. Moreover their installer “Bull” took the time to educate us on what to expect as everything grows in over time.

Finally, Bruce, the owner of Tucker Design Build, followed up with me a few months after completion of the project to make sure all of the plants were being properly maintained and meeting our overall expectations.

Design and build on my pool which accomplished all that my wife and I were hoping for. Bruce has a very easy to talk to
personality who gets it when you communicate what you’re looking for. When the job ended there were a few items that needed to be tweaked and when Bruce promised they would be taken care of, they were. We’re very happy that we chose the Tucker Company to do our job

We choose Bruce because he was Refered and the other contractors weren’t as personable initially. Biggest mistake of my life. Beware of the following:
1. Payment schedule- he will ask for large sums of deposits at the beginning.
2. All the employee’s are subcontractors. He promised me he did not use subs.
3. I would have 1 or 2 emoloy es coke to work every 2-3 weeks (Never did multiple workers come back to back days)
4. After 2 weeks of allowing g him to complete his pool remodel….we had a pool by leak.
****Basically after paying this individual over 100k I have had to pay another 25k plus to fix his pool errors.
Read the reviews!!! Bob the “Project Manager” at this point should not be with the company based on what he promised me. He said he was only staying to finish our project????

I can go on an on but just be careful with this Bruce Tucker
