Dreamscapes by M.G.R. was amazing to work with. From the minute they started our project until the final step the team at Dreamscapes surpassed our expectations. Manny Rodriguez has only the very best working for him. From the project manager, Diego Olmos, to the demolition crew. Communication was of the highest priority to Manny and Diego. They set up a mailbox that we used for getting paperwork back and forth quickly. Diego was on-site to answer questions as they arose and to ensure that plans were being carried out to Dreamscape standards. We were emailed updates and information at least twice a week on top of clarifying phone calls and drop-in visits to check on the progress and quality of the work. Every crew that Dreamscapes sent to work on our project showed up on time, worked long hours, worked hard, and did quality work. It was obvious that they took pride in their work as it showed in the finished project. We simply couldn’t be happier with the entire process and the end result. We waited a long time to build our dream pool, we hired the best, and it was worth every penny and then some. We are looking forward to using Dreamscapes again on our future projects!

We used Dreamscapes for a full front and back yard remodel with a pool, outdoor living space and covered patio structure. Dreamscapes gave us world-class design & masonry results, handled every aspect of this massive project, including subs, with detailed organization. The contract was straightforward and all of our numerous change orders were meticulously tracked. Our project took longer than we expected, even with the additional projects accounted for, but we bear the responsibility for some of that. Overall, an extraordinary experience that completely exceeded our expectations. We will be using Dreamscapes again when we renovate the front yard.

Our construction project was a complicated & costly major renovation of our backyard + pool + putting green + landscape + irrigation. Add into the mix my husband – he has a Type A personality – planned on being VERY involved in every single detail.

Knowing this ahead of time, we did great research, and from that list, narrowed down our interview list to 5 firms. Out of the final five, two never showed up – nor communicated why – for the initial meeting, 1 was such a salesman we didn’t trust him and we were down to the final two.

Our choice to go with Dreamscapes was based solely on Joe Lascola’s professionalism. Price wise, Dreamscapes was competitive with the other high end/full service firms we were looking at.

When we first met with Joe, he was early to our meeting, prepared with many ideas, prepared to measure & take photos. Joe arranged for me to interview other Dreamscapes clients and one locally invited me to their house to see the work in person! Every meeting from there until we signed to contract was the same professionalism.

Joe’s ideas were spot on and he really understands design, function and the need to consult the construction team to ensure that the design can be built. He REALLY listened to what we wanted and worked us through several steps to ensure we were all on the same page.

Shockingly, once the contract was signed and money was exchanged, JOE WAS EVEN MORE RESPONSIVE, CREATIVE & ACCESSIBLE! You read that correctly!!

Joe introduced us to our project manager Diego Olmos, and from there we all worked together on the major renovation of our backyard + pool + putting green + landscape + irrigation.

I don’t know if this is typical, but once construction started, Joe was still very involved in the project, probably because of the numerous change orders on our part and the addition of two major scopes of work.

What we had done:
We had a renovation of our backyard consisting of:
Laying travertine over already existing cement – about 3200 sf
Renovating an already existing pool/spa/water features with various travertine & onyx trim, resurface with Pebbletec.
BBQ reno with stone & trim
Gazebo reno with stone & trim
Renovating all the sitting areas with stone coping, stone & trim
Creating a putting green
Renovating the jungle of our large backyard landscape
Renovating the irrigation system

Quality of work & workers:
Joe Lascola: Professional designer, experienced with construction, so that ensure a design dream can be built. Every single phone call, text and email was responded to immediately!
** Important to note ** When we were choosing our materials and found something from Bedrosians in Anaheim. There was some terrible bait & switch/mix up/misunderstanding that left me at Pacifica Stone (not open to the public) an Anaheim wholesale stone yard (a must use company) with an argument on my hands. I called Joe in a panic, not knowing what in the world was going on, and he literally left another appointment – sorry about that – to drive over to get involved in the dispute. So big was the dispute (the amount of stone & the cost was a very lucrative sell for a company) that the owner of Dreamscapes, Manny, got involved. The entire Dreamscapes team made sure to keep us informed but never involved in the lengthy drama.

Diego Olmos: Project manager of construction. Like Joe, very professional, personable, very experienced in construction, and like Joe, responded quickly to phone, text & email. Joe ran a really tight ship with his construction crew and made sure that they got the job done right the first time! We only had one small item that had to be re-done (onyx trim on bbq was laid with one line of stone instead of two). Diego made sure that that was the one and only re-do that would happen.

Diego was also super responsive to a need for party clean-up mid way through the project, and made sure that even though it was obvious that we were mid way through the construction, our front & backyard was left pristine for the party!

Work crews:
Truth be told, we spoiled them…bought them lunch daily, beer for them on Friday afternoons, but they deserved it.

Aside from a phenomenal work ethic, the crew are world-class masons! Their work is simply perfect! Personable, respectful, VERY neat & tidy, and on time. They cared where their cars were parked, wore clean Dreamscapes tshirts/polo shirts daily, worked very long hours and on weekends.

One of the workers has an opera voice and would serenade the neighborhood in Spanish for hours a day. Neighbors commented on how beautiful his voice was and they would OPEN windows to listen to him.

Subs:
PebbleTec pool resurfacing was sub’d out, and Dreamscapes made sure that someone was on site all day for the few days the pool was being resurfaced.

Plant material was delivered to the house directly from the wholesaler, and Joe asked me to join him to be on hand to approve the quality of EVERY SINGLE plant as it came off the truck.

It was a childhood dream of mine to have a pool in my backyard. I had a vague idea about what I wanted but knew my dream yard had to match what I could afford. Before hiring someone I wanted an idea of what could be done and what the price tag might look like. Kirk, from Dreamscapes, came out and did two 2D designs for me before I even settled on using Dreamscapes. Once hired, Kirk created a color 3D design complete with example plants, furniture, etc. Kirk iteratively altered the design until we had a blueprint for the backyard pool and entertainment space that I’d been dreaming about for so long. I was nervous about the scope and potential unexpected costs, as we had to demo not only the backyard but also the front yard, due to the layout access to my backyard. Dreamscapes, both Kirk and my project manager, Diego, reassured me all the way through the process. Kirk helped me pick beautiful materials that didn’t completely break the budget. The Dreamscapes staff were incredibly talented, very polite, super helpful, and Diego kept the project moving quickly. The masons and glass tile specialists that they have are superb, as are their landscape architects. Ultimately, we had a pool with infinity spa, a travertine paver patio, lattice patio cover, fire feature and bbq island put into the back yard. The front yard was spruced up too as we had them update our front porch/ walkway and encircle our front yard with a stone veneered masonry and wrought iron fence. The yards were landscaped with colorful water-wise tropical looking plants and landscape lighting which make both yards look gorgeous both day and night. The 3D design was spot on, but the live version is so much prettier than I had even expected (& I had high expectations). I couldn’t be happier with the finished product and highly recommend Dreamscapes.

The Dreamscapes team did an excellent job building the pool and backyard we wanted!

We started looking for a contractor in June of 2021. We were already working with an independent designer and just needed a contractor to build the pool.

Working with an independent designer helped ensure apples-to-apples bids from multiple contractors, but caused delays during the permit process.

From the time of permit approval, Dreamscapes did a phenomenal job and was our primary contact for the pool and landscape construction.

Our Timeline:
June 2021 – design & bids
July 2021 – decision on contractor
August 2021 – designer submitted drawings for permits
February 2022 – permits approved, given to Dreamscapes
March 2022 – Dreamscapes started construction
August 2022 – Dreamscapes completed construction

The Dreamscapes bid was the best value of the three contractors we had quote our design. Watching them work during the process, my guess is that Dreamscapes many years in the business has earned them a network of professionals who they rely on for certain specialty portions of the work – shotcrete and plaster in particular – as well as extensive in-house crews for tile, landscape and hardscape.

This combination delivered incredible quality at a price point that beat out the other contractors by over 10%!

During the project, Manny and Efrain were responsive and worked hard to keep the job on schedule.

We had issues and a few delays during the project, but they demonstrated clear and effective communication the entire time. In spite of multiple delays (concrete, plaster, pool equipment), the project completed just 5 days behind the 5-month timeline they published to me at the beginning of the job – given all of the shortages and supply chain issues I was very impressed! In addition, they stayed on-budget with no cost changes compared to the original quoted work.

I highly recommend this company. They did an extensive pool, hardscape and landscape remodel of my home. The designer (Kirk) was really friendly, knowledgeable about design and responsive to all our questions. Don our project manager managed the project well and made sure all went smooth with the city permits. Also, their attention to detail is outstanding. I highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of hiring Dreamscapes to complete a large outside house project. This included new pavers, IPE deck, Pergola, spa, and many other items. Dreamscapes & Eric MacRae came highly recommended so we met to discuss design. Within one hour of meeting him, we decided that we would use his Company for our project. We typically meet with several contractors before making a decision, especially one of this magnitude. But, Eric made us feel confident that this was the right decision. Eric is an incredibly calm, fair and creative person. Here are the reasons why Dreamscapes, Eric and Gabe “Project Manager” are the right choice for anyone’s outside remodel.

Eric came to the table with ideas that she had not thought of, which is no small feat. Furthermore, he was able to translate our vision into a drawing, while “correcting” any design elements that we had that did not fit in the overall project.

Eric, Gabe and their team work like a well-oiled machine. I was pleasantly surprised at how little “collateral damage” there was in a project of this size. Furthermore, we were met with many obstacles and challenges. There wasn’t one single problem Gabe could not overcome by using decades of experience. They use the highest quality materials available and the most experienced and skilled employees.

Gabe and his crew understand every aspect of the project on a very detailed level. Furthermore, Dreamscapes has a massive network of subcontractors, each one of them performing at the same caliber as their own crew. The result of this is truly a turnkey project where Dreamscapes facilitates every aspect of the project.

Eric, Gabe and their crew are by far the easiest and most professional contractor I have ever dealt with. Communication was detailed and frequent. Even during very complicated and challenging aspects of the project, the discussions were calm and professional. Furthermore, Gabe always found a solution to every issue we encountered. These solutions worked in harmony with the other parts of the project and also stayed within budget.

Eric and Gabe exceeded our expectations on many levels. All of us had some major challenges and issues on our project and Dreamscapes didn’t give up. They stayed as our partner until the end. We could not be happier with the finished project. I am sure they hear this often, but I am caught staring at our deck and spa in amazement.

Dreamscapes was a dream!

My husband and I are renovation junkies, and the idea of demo-ing our entire yard, and starting from scratch was daunting even for us.
From the start, we interviewed three companies. joe was our designer, and of all three companies, he was the only one that saw our vision and helped us expand that vision into something we could have never dreamed of.
After months of designing and planning we finally decided to pull the trigger and sign the contract with Dreamscapes, it is a decision we will never regret.
We were given Gabe as a project manager. Gabe was attentive, respectful, and ran a tight ship. I have never seen anyone work so hard, and be so busy, yet he always had time to answer a question or a phone call without ever making us feel like a burden.
We were given a time frame of 4-6 months for our project to be completed, and they finished in 5 months. The workers were just as amazing as Joe and Gabe. They were extremely hard working, a lot of times being here 6 days a week. They cleaned up after themselves, and were extremely respectful of not only us, but the fact that we had to live in the construction zone.
When we were looking to hire a company, we read all the reviews on every company. I noticed that the negative reviews for Dreamscapes, were pretty much all from people that had not used the company, but of the people that did, all had experiences like ours and the reviews were great. I would highly recommend working with Dreamscapes, and if I were to build another yard tomorrow, I would hands down use them again.
