I was having significant rash reaction to chlorine so went looking for an alternative. The only other option I found that seemed viable required that the pump run 24/7. I was not prepared to absorb the wear and tear on the pump, or the electricity use to do that. So, I opted for this. It seems to work. I’ve had no skin reactions, and it appears to do what it’s supposed to do. I do find I have to use a non-chlorine shock once or twice a month to avoid algae issues. The only other issue I have is that it has created green stains on the pool surface – especially under the ports where the water comes into the pool from the copper chamber. Fortunately, my pool color scheme is green, so I’ve decided to live with it. I did find that the copper bars disappeared and had to be replaced more quickly that I had anticipated.

If I could give this rotten company zero stars I would have. I paid over $5,000 for their system in March of 2017. In about three months my house started smelling like rotten eggs, really badly. I contacted the company and they told me it was not related to their system and that I would have to shock my well with Chlorine to make the smell go away. I called 4 different experts to my home and every single one had the same opinion. Each company tested my water both before and after Ecosmarte’s well water system. All four companies reached the same conclusion. The Ecosmarte system was not filtering out the Hydrogen Sulfide. I called the company with these results and now they blamed it on my brand new well pump (which I had installed the same day as their system). They now said it was because I was not getting the proper GPM (Gallon’s per minute). I then paid for a well company to come to the house and test it. I watched over 15 gallons pour into 3 home depot buckets in about 50 seconds, so this is NOT the problem.

After confronting them with this, they decided to send me Greensand and new Carbon to re-bed their system with. I paid another $400 to have this done. I did research on Greensand and the only way it can be backwashed is with Chlorine!!! I asked Ben this with Ecosmarte and never got a reply. Now my house is stinking with rotten egg smell AGAIN and I confronted them yet again with this problem. They told me today, October 17th, 2017 that they would not refund my money. I’m now hiring an attorney and will be suing them in court. This company has horrible communication and rotten customer service and most importantly, they do not stand behind their product when their is a problem. Do not buy from this company. I have paid a local company, Pollock Well Company, $4,300 to put in a new system. This is a move I should have made sooner.

As a small business owner, I understand when companies just can’t get it right. When this happens, you refund that customer their money and move on. My cell number is 850-630-1159. Feel free to call me on this number and I will share this information with you. I don’t want anybody else to get “hosed” like I did.

You can see the pictures of the stuff that comes out of my faucet! The home depot bucket is full of the water from my bathtub, Nice Huh??
