I was having significant rash reaction to chlorine so went looking for an alternative. The only other option I found that seemed viable required that the pump run 24/7. I was not prepared to absorb the wear and tear on the pump, or the electricity use to do that. So, I opted for this. It seems to work. I’ve had no skin reactions, and it appears to do what it’s supposed to do. I do find I have to use a non-chlorine shock once or twice a month to avoid algae issues. The only other issue I have is that it has created green stains on the pool surface – especially under the ports where the water comes into the pool from the copper chamber. Fortunately, my pool color scheme is green, so I’ve decided to live with it. I did find that the copper bars disappeared and had to be replaced more quickly that I had anticipated.
