We have been working with Brad and Hearthstone for around 10 years. Our company does the landscape design and installation around the beautiful pools that Hearthstone creates. When I am recommending Hearthstone to potential customers, I tell them that the vision and expertise that Brad brings to the table in un-matched in the industry. The pool designs that he creates are breathtaking and ambitious. He often exceeds the expectation of the client with the finished product. Working with multiple other pool contractors over the years, I see many other simple designs, or poorly thought-out spaces. This is not the case when you use Hearthstone. If you want a pool or outdoor space that is beautiful, functional, and/ or amazing, I would recommend Hearthstone for your project.

Brad and his team of skilled craftsmen created an incredible water feature for a very high end exterior Outdoor Living display for PMC Building Materials. This interactive display was needing some type of focal point water feature, but we had limited space. Brad came in and designed a waterfall that was perfect for the space! He and his teams conceptual skills are very impressive and his skilled craftsmen were able transfer the concept to reality, creating a water feature that tied our entire Outdoor Living interactive display together! The display area flows perfectly from one space to the next now and is aesthetically perfect.

A pool build is no small thing, and for our household, has been a dream of ours for the past 10 years. Brad and his company fulfilled this dream of ours, and in a way that far and away exceeded our expectations.

From the very first design proposal brought by Hearthstone, we knew we were in a different league from the other builders we looked at. Brad’s design was beautiful, practical, and demonstrated both imagination and a dedication to our vision. Furthermore, at every step of the way, Brad made consistent recommendations and creative “edits” of the design that were always on point.

If the whole experience can be summed up in one anecdote: At the end of February, when my wife and I were staring at the clay excavation site that our backyard had become, we were wondering if the reality were truly going to match the design. When the stone work began (beautiful, next-level stonework!), we suddenly realized that we may be getting “too much pool” – but in the best of ways.

I cannot say enough about the effort, care, and conscientiousness that Brad and his team put into our project. I would recommend (and I do!) Hearthstone to anyone who will listen.

Worked with Brad to design a pool in our backyard. One of the biggest differences over other pool companies we received bids from in the Atlanta area, they never talked about the yard. We needed grading, drainage, redsign of our deck, and trees removed just to get the equipment into the backyard, let alone have room for a unique pool design. Working together with RPM Landscaping, we not only got a beautifully designed pool, but one that was perfectly placed in our yard to have full functionality for our young family. The best part was that we didn’t have to work with 4-5 sub contractors, Bob and Brad stepped into that role and helped manage all of the necessary subs to work on the pool that started in late February and was fully open to swim by Mid-May.

If you are thinking of building a pool, think about what your yard will look like once the pool has been put in. There is a LOT of large construction equipment that needs to get back there that will tear up existing landscaping, there needs to be proper grading as there really is no such thing as a flat yard in the North Metro area of Atlanta (especially in Cobb), proper drainage as you are adding hard surfaces to your yard that will result in a lot more water run then you had previously, and an eye for incorporating a pool seamlessly into your backyard with equipment placement.

I would also recommend pavers around your pool. They are a little more than concrete, but allow you a much longer life, cooler for little feet in the VERY hot Georgia summers, and if you ever make additions or changes to the pool…you have a much easier access by just pulling up the pavers, setting them aside, making your fixes/changes, and then resetting them without anyone ever knowing different. You try to do that with concrete and you will have to tear up and repave where the concrete will never match up with the existing.

I had a very good experience with Hearthstone.

We hired Brad and his team to complete a stone fireplace/mantle inside our home, a new patio, pergola, stone fire pit and bench, and custom surroundings for our grill outside. We also had a side driveway added to the side of our house. Brad met with us promptly and took the time to listen to, and understand our vision. We hired Hearthstone Environments to take our unusable wooded back yard and transform it to beautiful outdoor living and entertaining space. The project included removal of some trees, building of a retaining wall, adding a patio off the sun room, a flagstone walkway, landscaping with over 130 new plants, and creation of a grass “play area” that we never had before due to our wooded lot.

However, it is the focal point of the backyard that has given us the most pleasure. In the corner of a wooded area of the backyard, Hearthstone designed and constructed a large flagstone fire pit with cedar benches. It is a great feature and has become the meeting place for family, friends, and other get-togethers.
