Danna Cain with Home & Garden Design is very knowledgeable, creative, detail oriented and caring. She wanted to ensure our project was exactly what we wanted and steered us in to make sure we stayed within our budget. The landscape design, choice of flowers, shrubs and hardscape exceeded our expectations. Danna also went above and beyond in dealing with the City of Atlanta for us to ensure that we did not have an issue with permeable ratio allowance. Danna was the answer to my prayers. I have a large terraced area in the back of the house off the patio with lots of deer. She provided me with a comprehensive plan for the area which will be colorful, deer resistant (), and which I will be able to install with a little help from my grandsons. She also provided a list of recommended sources for all the plants and the timing for the plantings. 5 stars for Danna

Danna’s expertise is invaluable, and she is a joy to work with. We approached Home & Garden Design, Atlanta with challenging drainage and elevation issues, and in desperate need of inspiration for what was then a dull backyard. We had no idea where to start. After hearing our concerns and hopes, Danna’s creative vision for the space was more beautiful and functional than we could’ve imagined. As we are young homeowners, she helped us plan where to focus our resources and shared her knowledge so we could do much of the work ourselves. Danna is thorough, warm, and strategic. Thanks to her, we’ll soon have the dreamiest yard in the neighborhood.

Had a wonderful experience working with Danna on our front and back yard landscape designs. We have a number of drainage issues which has caused erosion on the sides and back of our home. Danna really listened and designed a solution that would be both functional and beautiful. We have not implemented the design yet as we are in the middle of replacing our siding. However we hope to complete the landscape in the spring at which point I hope to add some pictures. Truly recommend Danna as she knows her stuff!

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Danna on the development of a landscape plan for our backyard. She gathered an extensive amount of information on what I as the homeowner was interested in with respect to everything from color and plant type, to design style, to how much time I was interested in spending in the gardens tending them. Danna and Conrad were easy to work with. She worked through several designs until we reached one that fit our budget, but would allow for future development. We were changing our entire yard, a large area, with slopes and drainage issues, so it was a challenge.
They were able to modify the slopes, run drain fields, and install retaining walls. In addition, the project involved removing existing trees and bushes and installing a new driveway. Danna kept us informed every step of the way, and when minor changes were needed, we were consulted and advised.
I would highly recommend them for your landscaping projects.

Danna did an absolutely fantastic job designing the landscaping for our new home. There were several challenges including large parts of the yard that were shaded and challenges managing stormwater. Danna not only overcame these issues but also incorporated so many things from our nice-to-have list including low maintenance plants, a natural look, and a blend of colors and textures. Danna produced incredibly detailed and easy to follow drawings. She met with us numerous times and presented multiple plan options which we iterated until reaching a perfect plan. Danna also helped us to break the plan into multiple phases and educated us on the pros and cons of doing things earlier vs later. This way were able to implement the most important items first but have a vision for where we want to go over the years. In addition to all of this Danna helped us to manage the implementation and to hold our contractor to the highest standard.

Many thanks to Danna for helping us once again. This time she designed a beautiful landscape solution for a very steep hillside behind our new house. It was a difficult project involving 2,000 sf on a very steep incline of about 65 degrees. Due to the steepness of the hillside, it was an erosion problem, difficult to maneuver, and consequently hard to maintain (not to mention ugly!). After talking unsuccessfully to numerous landscape companies about possible solutions, we turned to Danna for help. She created a plan that met our needs and provided a basis to have meaningful discussions with landscapers. In short order, we were able to narrow the field and find a company that earned our business and confidence. Danna and Conrad helped us once before with a major project at our previous home that we enjoyed for many years. My wife and I highly recommend Danna and Conrad, and their company Home & Garden Design. We couldn’t be happier and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future.

Danna did a beautiful job designing our landscaping for our front and back yards. I needed a full design plan in a hurry that I could put into action some immediately, and some over time and she delivered that. She took into account our plant preferences, the way we use our space, the type of light and water we have, and our less-than-green-thumb abilities. With her plan, I’ve felt confident purchasing and planting in our yard. It already looks a million times better with what we’ve put in place from her plan so far and I look forward to seeing everything grow and mature.

Danna designed my unusable tiny back yard into a space that has multi-level outdoor living and relaxing areas. She picked plants and shrubs that attract birds, bees and butterflies, which has transformed the yard from a pile of weeds to a peaceful place full of texture, fragrances and color throughout the year.

We hired Home & Garden Design to design and install a new drainage system around our house. This is the fourth project we’ve engaged with HGD. We received a plan with multiple options and a detailed cost proposal. As before, HGD remained engaged throughout the project, and we are extremely satisfied with the results. I met Danna Cain at a Home and Garden Show years ago -and at that time she designed beautiful front, side and back yard gardens for me and has come by since (most recently 8/2019) to help make changes as conditions in my yard have changed – I removed some trees from my front yard, giving me more sun and the opportunity for different plants.

The designs are beautiful and detailed and she explains how the plants go together. The mix of perennials, annuals and spring bulbs ensures that there is something to see all year.
