Mike Farley designed our pool and spa. He was very comprehensive in the approach used. First Mike surveyed our lot and told us about potential design issues ( Like a 40 year old Elm tree, the yard grade/elevation, and how the pool would be seen from the house and yard). He asked how we would use the pool to determine the best size and depth, then asked questions about our style preferences. Once we were all satisfied our answers were complete, Mike produced a Computer Aided Design drawing of the pool. We went over each item from the pool mechanical equipment, to lights, to tile and decking choices. He produced a second computer drawing (that allowed us to “see” the pool from any vantage point). We made some changes to the original design and he produced a final design. Mike’s knowledge of all things associated with pool design made it easy for us to choose pool mechanical equipment, lights, tile, decking, and pool plaster type (and the computer 3D scale drawings made it easy to see how choices looked). I would recommend Mike to anyone designing a pool. He listens to his customers, produces designs consistent customer wishes, and is very comprehensive in ensuring there will be no unpleasant surprises for his clients.

Do not use this guy. We paid him $2,000 in August, 2021 to come out and give us a design. Said would be 2 weeks and would get back to us. Finally, in November, 2021, he gave us a preliminary design. We discussed some changes and never heard a word back. We have called, sent emails, and text messages with no responses.

$2,000 down the drain with nothing to show for it. Very poor service. Do not use him!

Mike was always professional, communicative, and most importantly creative and understanding of our dreams. He also worked with our budget. Always being careful to document all additions and credits during the process. The pool and cabanas he designed were better than we imagined, fitting in seamlessly with our existing home. I loved all of Mike’s pools when I discovered him on Houzz. Now I have one of my own!

We are extremely pleased with Mike’s design of our pool and backyard transformation. Mike overcame what we thought insurmountable challenges: trees, slope, line of sight, and dimension obstacles. Absolutely loved working with Mike. He did a fantastic job from project concept to completion. The time that he spent consulting with us prior to starting the design was unexpected but wound up feeling key to the process. He asked us questions that made us consider design options that we never would have come up with on our own.

Throughout the process Mike made recommendations down to the smallest details. More importantly he explained why he was making the recommendation. We always felt that we were making informed decisions. Now that the project is complete there is not a single detail that we would reconsider.

We love showing off our backyard and Mike’s eye for design really shows. The pool even looks amazing from inside the house… because it was designed to.

The biggest compliment that I can give is that I have recommended Mike to everyone were shown it to. We aren’t considering moving away from our outdoor paradise anytime soon… But if we did, the is no one that I would rather work with again.

Mike is a great pool designer! We didn’t think we could fit everything we wanted in, but Mike made it work. We only had to request one design change since his original was so good. Mike discussed in-depth the steps that would happen. Our nasty muddy backyard has been transformed into a backyard oasis. We know have a sports pool, hot tub, basketball hoop, and a bbq/Green Egg to cook on.

Mike truly understands how to take a space and make it into a functional living space. So glad we hired Mike for the biggest purchase of our lives.

We hired Mike to design our pool last summer. He surveyed the yard, and managed to design the pool of our dreams while keeping as many of the mature trees as possible. He also noted a drainage problem in the yard (we had just purchased the home). He included a fix for that problem with the design of the pool. We could not be happier with the job he did. As an added bonus, he is one of the friendliest folks you could every hope to work with. We cannot recommend him highly enough.

Backyard transformation. The most critical phase of any project is choosing the right designer/contractor to do the job right the first time. When I started the process I contacted three contractors and had them send out their designer. It quickly became apparent that the scope and complexity of my project would require a special designer. So I started over and I started researching designers not just the contractors as I had done the first time a round. After several weeks of research I narrowed it down to two designers. Mike Farley was my first call. After speaking with Mike over the phone and answering some of his questions I was confident I had found my designer. I decided I would wait until we met in person to make my final decision. Once I met Mike in person and walked the site of the project, I was 100% confident in his ability and knowledge. This was a totally different experience than I had with the other three designers. I knew I had found my designer and Contractor and we begin the process. The process has been seamless, from the initial design phase through the revisions and the selection process Mike has been there to answer all my questions and also offer his opinion and expertise which has made this a great experience. If you’re looking for a world class designer look no further Mike Farley is your guy.

After the first in home meeting with Mike, I knew we had found the right person to build our dream pool. We simply told him our must haves and left the rest to the pro.
