Riptide saved our pool. We hired a company from out of the area to build a pool and they turned out to be less then honorable or professional. Riptide came over immediately and accessed the situation, and within a couple of weeks repaired and replaced the bad work that had been done. They finished our pool and it is absolutely beautiful. The staff is totally professional and knows how to build a pool and maintain it. I wish I had hired them from the beginning.

Bob did a great job on my pool. I wanted a hot tub that ran all the way across one end of the pool rather than a square placed in one corner ( that messes with my symmetry and balance), and he designed a great tub with “wet decks” on either side, which were shallow ledges. This allowed us to have a super large hot tub without having to heat a super large hot tub. Plus the shallow ledges are unique and beneficial – they are great little baby pools and great for lying down in the tub with just enough of your body covered to be comfortable and not too hot (great for star gazing). Riptide also built a bocce court and fire pit for us with similar demands of persnickety style, and they have been caring for the pool ever since.

Hired Riptide to put in our in-ground pool. The project was tricky as there is a large hillside behind the pool which was going to require a substantial retaining wall. Out of all the companies we interviewed, Bob was the only one to suggest building the pool and backyard up to reduce the need for a huge retaining wall. Brilliant. Made the whole backyard look better and reduced the cost significantly. Bob really puts a lot of strategic thought into the planning. Love our pool.

I found Riptide Construction a breath of fresh air to work with after working with horrible pool contractors. Most companies have subs that do their work. Riptide do all their work in house, that makes a huge difference… Bob Jones was really great in setting expectations and delivering on them. Everything went smoothly from the initial design / permit / construction, all the way through to completion. We also decided to keep using Riptide for all our regular maintenance, which they’re still doing 3 years later. They are true professionals at what they do and I can’t recommend them enough! You won’t be disappointed having them either build you a pool from scratch or fix a pool that wasn’t done right from the start. I’ve had them do both. Bob and Riptide Construction built my pool and outdoor patio on budget, on time and at a high level of quality. Technically it was a little complicated, but Bob’s “no problem” attitude was always welcome. They also stand by their work and have remedied the minor post construction issues that arose without objection. I highly recommend Riptide for pool building. Riptide won my business for many reasons. I do incredibly thorough research when undergoing a large project such as we did for our pool. I also found Riptide on Houzz — and saw the photos of the projects completed, and read reviews and decided to engage with Bob Jones.

Bob arrived on site — and gave me some ideas of what ‘could be’ for our entire outdoor pool / hardscape. I didn’t have the best ‘vision’ for what he suggested — so he took me out in the area to show me various suggested ideas. It was super helpful — and he and his team helped me pick a design and then execute flawlessly.

Their work is impeccable — and really almost no issues since we have the pool completed. Bob and his team also designed a beautiful infinity hot tub (with the functionality of the pool pump / gravity) above ground — and a fire pit. All of it controlled with my phone via an app! It is so great!

We chose Riptide Construction as our pool contractor after considering 2 other contractor bids for our backyard project. From the very beginning Bob was timely, attentive and shared his creative ideas and vast experience with us. In comparison to the other contractors we immediately felt at ease with Riptide’s ability to build our tension edge, infinity pool and surrounding patio areas. Our pool’s infinity wall is constructed to be exposed on the lower level terrace space. This required the wall to be tile finished as it would be a main visual part of our landscape. Throughout the project we felt that we were in the best hands and enjoyed working with the entire Riptide crew. We loved that Riptide employees work on the entire project vs. having the project completely subbed out as other pool contractors do. These guys are so talented, true experts in their craft, and pure pleasure to work with. From start to finish we had an excellent experience. When we had some scheduling setbacks due to COVID and the tile availability Riptide was happy to work on our terraced patios. We even got a sunken concrete living room with firepit which really makes our backyard extra special. The project turned out amazing. We absolutely love our new outdoor living spaces created. As soon as the project was finished my husband and I agreed there is no way the other 2 pool contractors could have constructed the quality or vision that Riptide was able to create for us. We didn’t just get a pool, we got an amazing water feature that is one of the best looking pools we’ve ever seen and several multi-level terraced entertaining spaces. Our expectations were exceeded. Definitely an 11 on a 10 scale!

We have selected Riptide to build our swimming pools in two different houses in Sonoma over the past five years. And I feel that they are the best in the business. They are very good at listening to exactly what you want and not trying to sell you a generic pool design. Their team coordinates well with other construction projects that are in progress and, importantly, there have been no late budget surprises. Bob Jones keeps a close eye on progress and the end result is that on both occasions, we have ended up with a pool that we are delighted with. Bob took us to many local pools that they had constructed and advised us on our plans and managed our expectations. His bid was thorough and very competitive. The crew from Riptide collaborated skillfully with our construction crew for the new house. Riptide also executed all the hardscape, which was considerable, with care and expertise. We have since had Riptide install a solar hot water heater for the pool. Their after installation service is excellent. There is professional follow-up on every question. There are very few problems, but they are addressed in a timely and complete manner. I recommend Riptide Construction at every opportunity.
