I had a 40-year old backyard and pool that needed some… well, ok a ton of help. I decided to tear out the whole backyard and replace everything. That is a huge commitment so I spent some time (years, in fact) talking to different contractors and finally settled on Sunset because they had great advice about the design I wanted, and their price ended up significantly under the other contractor bids. They were happy to include lots of miscellaneous items that saved me having to deal with them separately. They were easy to work with and responsive to my questions and needs during the project. I was in my new pool 10 weeks later, even with a couple of weeks off because of rain. The craftsmanship is top notch and I know I made the right choice to go with Sunset.

Corey and his crew are top-notch. Corey was extremely responsive during our project. His communication with us was outstanding. We were able to text and call him and he always responded within minutes to our texts and picked up the phone when we called. We were amazed how quickly his crew got the job done. The work they did was beautiful, replastering our pool, putting in new tile, and installing the autofill capabilities. Corey was also very helpful in connecting us with ancillary professionals that we needed (pool tile company, pool fence company, etc.). Sunset Pools did an incredible job on our pool and spa. We had an old pool built in 1967 and Corey and the crews made it better than new and added a spa along with over 2,000sf of pavers. The pricing was fair and reasonable and the end product is fantastic. We got quotes from four pool companies and Sunset had the best package. We are very happy we selected Sunset Pools and would not change anything. Sunset is big enough to do a great job but small enough to be competitive, plus the owner, Corey is local.

Corey is nice guy, but shouldn’t be a pool contractor in my opinion. He used all sub contractors and the work was very shoddy. Pictures below will show the tile work and the cracked spa wall. The pictures were taken within 2 weeks of completion. I hired a pool inspector and he confirmed that the pool was cracked. Don’t forget to READ your contract!!!
This is not calcium build up, but plaster coming from the back of the cracked spa wall. The calcium was on the low side because the pool was just filled with water.
Also he did not have a porta potty for his sub contractors, the subs brought their lunches with them, and did not leave the property all day for the weeks that they were here.
I hired another pool contractor to replaster and re tile. The tile around the pool was uneven and made the water look high in the shallow end and low in the deep end. I would pass on this company.

We had a great experience working with Sunset Pools. From the onsite visits, multiple design iterations, and all the extensive work details that went into building our beautiful pool — everything was handled professionally and with awesome customer service. We were kept updated throughout the process which was especially important while dealing with a pandemic build. Completely recommend Sunset Pools!

Wow, I cannot say enough good things about Sunset Pools and Spas. I would 110% recommend them. We had met with many pool builders before choosing this one and feel very lucky that we went with Sunset Pools and Spas. Both Corey and Steven were extremely knowledgeable about the entire pool building process and understood exactly what I wanted from the beginning. Their quote was very fair and the best we could find. From the beginning, Corey and Steven advised us on what we needed and the different ways we could stay on budget and get the most for our money. On top of that, we gave them a very short time frame for the project and they delivered on time just as promised.

Everyone that was a part of the pool build was an expert in their area. Our project included remodeling our existing pool and adding heat and a spa. We were able to afford a salt system, a WIFI run pool, all new equipment moved to the side of the house, replacing old plaster with mini pebble, auto-fill and a water feature. Steven was super responsive throughout the process with any questions I had. Texts were always returned promptly and many times followed by a phone call. Steven was also onsite quite a lot making sure things were going as planned. We really felt we were in good hands the whole way through. Even in this current, challenging economy there was never an issue of having to wait for materials or equipment, Sunset Pools had everything on hand.

We discovered what a complex and arduous task it is to remodel a pool. It involves plumbers, electricians, laborers, tilers and the list goes on. There was never a day where someone wasn’t onsite working on our project. Having someone like Steven that is running all of these different jobs in concert was a big reason our job was done on time. The quality of work done was outstanding. One of our favorite parts of the remodel was the tile work. The person that laid our tile was a craftsman. The tile work came out beautifully in the end with the many complex cuts looking effortless. The coping and mini pebble finish was also done expertly and came out even better than we thought it could. Whereas before we thought our pool was fairly unattractive and dated, it now is a beautiful and modern feature of our backyard. It is amazing that we now control our entire pool from our phones and never have to worry about adding water to the pool again. Thank you to Steven and Corey for making it all happen.

Highly recommend Sunset Pools & Spa. From the first conversation to the final sign off, Corey and his team were awesome to deal with. My wife and I were very opinionated on what exactly we wanted in our backyard which can be challenging for some builders. This was not an issue with Corey. He came over and reviewed our wants and ideas and within a week we had drawings. He hit all of our points we asked him to include. We tweaked some things over the next week which he was happy to change. We did ask him for advice on some stuff which he offered great ideas and solutions but always delivered it more as an idea versus a must do.
During the permitting process Corey kept us up to date on timing and shared all the correspondence. Once the permits were done, Sunset got right on the project wasting no time at all. Every crew he sent over was hard working, kind and considerate. The construction zone was constantly cleaned up as best as possible. During the the project we saw Corey as much as his crews which was the personal touch we were really looking for. He actually had to head out of state for a family trip and was still texting and calling us to ensure things went well. Corey was exemplary at customer service.
We have recommended Sunset Pools & Spas to our neighbors and friends and they have all jumped on board with them. We love our pool and spa and are incredibly thankful for the amazing result of our project.

Like a lot of people, my wife and I thought it would be a good idea to install a pool, firepit and BBQ Island during COVID-19. We did the usual three bids. Steven from Sunset Pools came out did a consultation and gave us a bid. He seemed to understand what we where looking for and gave us good ideas. His bid was very reasonable and in great detail, listed my options for my build. We signed on with Sunset and didn’t look back once. There were definitely challenges trying to build a pool during an epidemic, with city hall shutting down or opening one day a week. Steven and his crew where outstanding. The quality of work was simply amazing. The final product completely exceeded my expectations. Steven and his crew were committed to doing it right and if it wasn’t, Steven had them do it over without me even saying anything. His crew was very polite and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely hire them again if I ever build another one. You definitely owe it to yourself to call Sunset and talk to Steven if you are interested in putting in a pool. I got way more then I expected and couldn’t be happier.

I have had a Sunset Pools pool for the last 40 years. After 40 years of wear, we were due for new resurfacing and new tile. We called Sunset Pools and were not disappointed. Our pool is remarkable and has turned our neighbors on to wanting to refinish their own backyard pools. Very hardworking team that was accommodating and supportive. Would highly recommend and use again!
