I am delighted to give an unqualified recommendation to Water’s Edge Outdoor Living, without reservation. We hired Water’s Edge to design turn our late 1980’s pool into a first-class outdoor space at our home which flooded in Hurricane Harvey, three weeks after we bought it!! The pool was old-fashioned and worn out before the flood, and the backyard lacked a covered outdoor space. Overall, it was, um, unimpressive. So Water’s Edge was happy to help us make it much bigger and much grander, as well as help us add a nice covered outdoor space that we wanted. We loved their design from the beginning, and we love the finished product (see the pictures accompanying this review) and use and enjoy it almost every day.

We also loved working with Dan and Clay at Water’s Edge. They were VERY responsive and attentive to our needs and feedback during the process, and they’ve continued to be wonderful partners answering questions and helping out from time to time as we learn how to get the most out of the great space they put together for us. They were consummate professionals, had lots of experience and deep knowledge about the work we were asking them to complete, have a terrific network of suppliers and customers who are great to work with and happy to share their experiences and insights, and did an overall excellent job meeting our needs and budget. Dan was also great at creatively working to deliver the outcome we wanted within our desired spend.

Water’s Edge installed our pool in the Houston Heights. We had a relatively small area with which to work and are delighted with how the project came out. Daniel Slate was great to work with and produced a fabulous design for the space e had. The design was presented on screen and we were able to modify it in real time. Once our design was finalized and the contract agreed we were kept informed at all times during the permitting process. Daniel then helped us select materials and plan the landscaping. Once construction began in September it was supervised by Clay Thomas who was always on site when any work was being done, he was incredibly responsive to all of our questions and any concerns. The pool was finished in mid November and is absolutely terrific. Clay then walked us through utilization of the pool equipment, and followed up after completion to check that all was well. He even contacted us proactively at the beginning of the great freeze of Feb 2021 to tell us how to protect the pool equipment and pipes and checked everything out afterwards. In sum I would strongly recommend anyone to use Water’s Edge for their pool project, their design skills are excellent and customer service and deliverables outstanding.

I work with Dan and his clients as a sub and every job I’ve been on has been top notch. Our synthetic grass is always last to get installed so I get to see the finished product and speak with Dan’s clients and they all say same thing, they’re very happy with the process, Dan’s crew and the finished product. From my stand point the designs and execution are always on point and more importantly we get paid on time, which is a sign of good project management. Water’s Edge did an excellent job with our swimming pool, deck and firepit area making our backyard a very enjoyable place to hang out in summer and winter. They were very professional, honest, timely and trustworthy. Furthermore, they were very fair with their price. The owner, Dan, has done previous work on our property as well and we have never had issues then nor now and glad we rehired him for our outdoor projects!

Wow, just wow! I met briefly with Daniel and turned the project over to him to design and execute. The result far exceeded my expectations. I wanted a swim lane, a hot tub, and easy entrance with submerged seating for visiting, all in a small tight space. I wanted it to relate to the interior of my house and porch. He did it all! It is all of the above, plus a beautiful water feature. I feel like I am swimming in a tasteful work of art. Thank you, Daniel.
