I started working with Melda and her team and subcontractors about a year ago on the master plan and the first phase of that work was done late 2022. Normal decisions by me and HOA submittals and review processes take time, but we got there. It has been a pleasure working with them all. Communication has been prompt and open. Melda’s subcontractors are skilled, meticulous, and professional. I look forward to my shrubs, grasses, and flowers going in next month (April 2023) and having a completely made over front yard. I hope I can update the photos when it is done. But you can see the dramatic differences already.

We are so please with the work Fine Lines Design Studio did in our backyard and side yard. They created a wonderful outdoor living space that our whole family enjoys. The creative design allowed us to add a fire pit, outdoor cooking space and a bar to enjoy. Would work with the Fine Lines team again.

My husband and I are very particular people but also very reasonable. We enjoyed working with Melda and team on our backyard remodel. We found her team professional, responsive and reliable. She provided input and expertise where needed and listened to our concerns and overall vision for the project. We’ve done many remodeling projects over the years and I’m done with contractors not listening to what our particular goals are for the space. Melda definitely set realistic expectations and tried to accommodate where possible. We receive kudos from neighbor about how integrated the design is with our house…that it just doesn’t look thrown together and cookie cutter. I researched ~100 DFW landscaping firms only considering those with good BBB ratings/reviews & photos of past work online. My spouse & I both picked Finelines Design Studios with no close 2nd. Their past work demonstrated a true design sense. We needed help with design ideas so that it added value & curb appeal to our home’s front appearance that was in keeping with the community but also different than styles you see over and over.

They presented us 3 options; we incorporated elements from each of the options in the final plan. They worked diligently to find quality plants & materials at a fair price point. Both parties were flexible to meet the ultimate objective substituting different plants & sizes as needed. Easy to work with. Professionalism. Follow through.

We are very happy with the end product & would use them in future projects. I’m sure you can find cheaper landscape firms but will your home appreciate in value due to good design & will you have peace of mind during the process.

We did not have the same experience as Florence Gwynn’s review. All our interactions were over Zoom until the construction actually started; nothing would have changed with F2F. We got fair credits for allowances & fair treatment on other changes. Our front yard landscaping project was in the low 20’s & I never felt we were treated any differently. Projects like this always have hiccups & trade-offs but how both parties respond is the true test. Their actions proved their word.

We contacted Fineline for a briefing for building Zen Garden. During the initial phone conversation, we told the lady our budget is $20-30K. She tried to persuade us to just have a zoom meeting instead of F2F due to COVID-19. I told her that we are spending quite a sum of money and prefer to meet the designer F2F and we expect her to be able to walk our yard to do the design. A couple of hours before the meeting, I received a voicemail asking if we want to change the meeting to zoom meeting due to the rain. I called them back and insisted a F2DF meeting. To be honest, it was just a little rain, it was NOT even a storm or anything but we feel like this company do not want to actually come out and is not sincere on getting the job.

Eventually, the owner, Melda, arrived. From our conversation, we found out Melda does not have any design education or background, we hired designers to work for her but she is the ONLY one to meet with clients. It is NOT her own design. She then outsource the job to some workers to install the landscaping. Melda said she will send us some sample within our budget range so we can get a sense of what we will get. Ended up, all the samples we received were over $60K. She said they did NOT do any project in $20K-30K and so don’t have samples in this price range. This is just a shocker to us!!! We feel like she should have told us in the initial phone conversation to save our time. The whole experience is very unprofessional and terrible!!

We had a very positive experience with Melda and the Fine Lines Design Studio team. We love our new backyard space and have gotten many compliments. Melda spent considerable time with us on the design – she shared unique ideas and options to help us maximize the space in our backyard. The construction went smoothly, despite weather and inspection delays; Melda managed all of the contractors and inspected their work to ensure it was to our satisfaction. What we appreciated most about working with Melda is her commitment to customer satisfaction; with any project, there will always be issues / challenges. Melda’s design transformed our backyard into a resort type setting and an additional living space. She was very hands on with the work and checked on progress almost daily. We love our new deck and remodeled pool!

The true worth of a contractor is demonstrated when things go wrong during construction (things are always going to go wrong) and once the project is completed. Melda has always worked to make things right and is very responsive.

Melda and the team at FineLines were very collaborative in maximizing my outdoor space. They proactively alerted me both to any potential areas of concern and to places where we could reduce budgeted expenses. So happy to be able to enjoy my beautiful new outdoor space now that I’m spending so much time at home!

We had such an amazing experience working with Melda and her team. Right from the start, communication was top notch. After our first design plan review meeting, we knew that Melda had listened to our wants and needs and addressed them in the detail design. Everyone at FineLines was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns. During the build phase, it felt like the project was on auto-pilot. We didn’t have to do a thing other than marvel at the efficient progress of the construction. There were some delays and issues due to bad weather, but Melda and her team always took care of everything. When Melda visits her various project sites, she should walk around with a t-shirt that says “Don’t worry. We got this!!” We truly look forward to working with FineLines again.

Melda did a fantastic job turning my ideas into reality! I had tried two other companies and did not feel they understood my vision or could deliver. Melda and her team provides exceptional customer service and I knew when to expect her team and was always upfront about any changes due to schedule … usually weather related ! I travel for work and did not have the time to have to part time project manage everything. Melda was fantastic !

Melda worked with us and developed a plan for our backyard renovation. She had very creative ideas. She was patient with us as we fine tuned the plan over several months. During the construction, Melda communicated very well with us. She came up with solutions to issues as they arose and showed a fantastic willingness to do what needed to be done to get things right.
