Recently, I photographed a newly renovated trendy project in the Biscayne Blvd. MIMO district in Miami, Florida. Being an architect and photographer, I have to say that the landscape designed by Lewis Aqui is very well done and appropriate for its context. By using vegetation common to the area, not only are the plants climate adapted requiring low maintenance but evoke a sense of lush tropical feeling as well as a true identity of their location. The design implements a layering concept which accentuates various textures, colors and shapes yielding a simplistic sophistication much in keeping with the modern architecture which it surrounds.

I recently hired Lewis Aqui to revamp my landscaping. We live on Miami Beach, and, as such, we do not have a large lot size. We challenged Lewis to create an impactful landscape with such a small space and he more than delivered!

Lewis really listened to our desire for impact, as well as our need for a low maintenance landscape and to keep and build upon the existing hardscape (pool included). He is the consummate professional and very responsive; a rarity in Miami! Lewis also managed the associated vendors with the project and they were all equally great to work with and did great work themselves.
